You can participate if you are a legal resident of the United States and District of Columbia, 18 years or older, who makes a money transfer transaction between May 8 and May 31st through our app, website, or any agent location. Residents of New York state are excluded.

Winners will be selected by a random drawing on June 9th, 2023, through an independent third-party provider, Marden Kane. Marden Kane will contact winners via phone and email to arrange the delivery of the prize.

The Fly Away Giveaway Sweepstakes (the “Promotion” or “Sweepstakes”) sponsored by Western Union Financial Services, Inc. (the “Sponsor”) is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States (except New York residents) and the District of Columbia (having a valid Tax Identification Number (TIN) or Social Security Number (SSN)), who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees of Western Union Financial Services, Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their respective officers, directors and agents, including Marden-Kane, Inc. (the “Administrator”) (collectively “Released Parties”) and their immediate families and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to enter or win. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void in New York and where prohibited by law. Winning a prize is contingent on entrant meeting all eligibility requirements.

The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on May 8, 2023 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on May 31, 2023 (the “Promotion Period”). Sponsor’s designated computer is the official timekeeping device for this Sweepstakes.

There are two ways to enter the Sweepstakes. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON REGARDLESS OF METHOD OF ENTRY.

A. Entry with a Western Union Money Transfer® transaction: During the Promotion Period, eligible entrants who make a Western Union Money Transfer® transaction at www.westernunion.com, via the Western Union App or at a Western Union retail location (a “Qualifying Transaction”) will automatically receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. Bill payments, Quick Pay, Quick Collect, and Corrections Pay will not be deemed a Qualifying Transaction. Entries will be identified with qualifying MTCN numbers.

B. Mail-in Entry: NO PURCHASE OR TRANSACTION OF ANY KIND NECESSARY. If you wish to enter the Sweepstakes without making a Qualifying Transaction (as noted above), on a plain piece of 3”x5” paper, hand print your complete first and last name, street address, city, state, zip code, date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy), e-mail address, your My WU number*, plus daytime telephone number including area code. Then, on the opposite side of your entry, in at least 20 words complete the sentence: “Western Union helps me celebrate mom by …”. Mail your entry in a #10 business-size envelope with first-class postage affixed to: Western Union Mother’s Day Flyaway Sweepstakes Entry, POB 698, Syosset, NY 11791-0698. Your outer-mailing envelope must include a valid return address, which includes a complete first and last name. Mailed entries received without a verifiable and legible return address will be deemed incomplete and invalid. Limit one entry per outer-mailing envelope. Bulk shipments (multiple entries in one shipping package) will not be accepted. Mail-in entry, including outer-mailing envelope must be handwritten. No mechanically reproduced entries or metered mail permitted. Statements contained in a mail-in entry will not be judged; Statements must not in any way reflect negatively upon Sponsor, the Promotion or any other person or entity. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by June 1, 2023 and received by June 7, 2023. You will receive one (1) entry, provided that the mail-in entry complies with the above requirements. Mail-in entries that are not in the format specified above, that are illegible, inaccurate, incomplete, or reproduced via photocopier or otherwise will be considered null and void. Proof of submission does not constitute proof of receipt. Sponsor not responsible for lost, late, illegible, mutilated, misdirected, postage-due entries or entries not received by the deadline. All material submitted becomes property of Sponsor and will not be returned. No correspondence will be acknowledged or entered into; requests for confirmation of receipt of mail-in entries will not be acknowledged.

A random drawing to select winners will be conducted on or about June 9, 2023 from among all eligible entries received (transaction-based and mail-in entries). The random drawing will be conducted by Marden-Kane, Inc. (the “Administrator”), an independent judging organization whose decisions are final. This is a randomized drawing that is not intended to and should not influence any decisions or actions for the benefit of Western Union. The Promotion is in compliance with all applicable anti-corruption laws and regulations. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible transaction-based and mail-in entries received.

All potential winners are subject to confirmation and verification; an entrant is not deemed a winner of any prize until entrant’s eligibility has been verified. Potential winners will be contacted by email and/or phone by Marden-Kane, the Administrator. Grand Prize winners will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, Prize Acceptance Form, and where lawful, a Publicity Release. Grand Prize winners will also be required to complete a W-9 Tax form to include winner’s social security number or tax identification number that will be used solely for purposes of reporting the winner’s prize earnings to the Internal Revenue Service (required for all prizes awarded over $600 in value). All completed Documents must be returned within 5 days (including Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays) of attempted delivery of same. Failure to return required Documents or respond to a notification within the time specified or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification without further notice and an alternate winner will be selected. In the event a potential winner is deemed ineligible, fails to comply with the Official Rules or is unable to claim the prize as specified, the potential winner will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected. Grand Prize award is contingent on eligibility verification and potential winner completing and returning all required Documents. Only three (3) random drawings to select an alternate potential winner (if necessary) will be conducted, after which the applicable prize will remain unawarded.

Five (5) Grand Prizes – Each Grand Prize winner will receive a Flight Voucher valued at up to USD $1,500, redeemable for air ticket travel originating from the closest major U.S. commercial airport to a destination determined by the winner. Each Grand Prize winner will also receive $500 which will be awarded in the form of a Western Union money transfer or a check, at Sponsor’s sole discretion. (ARV $2,000 each). The Flight Voucher portion of the prize may only be redeemed by the winner (the person whose name is printed thereon). Travel must be booked through the designated Travel Agency named on the winner’s Flight Voucher and travel must be completed by July 31, 2024, or prize will be forfeited, and Sponsor will have no obligation to award compensation in lieu thereof.  Winners are solely responsible for determining and complying with all applicable international/domestic travel procedures and restrictions. Flight Voucher cannot be redeemed for travel to comprehensively embargoed countries (e.g., Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea). Confirmation of travel bookings will be at the Travel Agency’s sole discretion. Sponsor is not responsible for arranging dates and times of travel. All associated travel bookings are subject to availability. Black-out periods and other restrictions may apply. Winner is responsible for all travel-related costs that exceed the $1,500 value of the Flight Voucher. A credit will not be issued if the full value of the Flight Voucher is not utilized. All other expenses such as accommodations, meals, travel documentation fees, spending money and additional travel beyond what is purchased using the Flight Voucher will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Airline tickets redeemed with the Flight Voucher may not be eligible for frequent flyer miles. Any documents or Flight Vouchers awarded to a winner become the responsibility of the winner upon possession of same and will not be replaced. Flight Vouchers are subject to all terms and conditions stated thereon. Released Parties are not responsible for travel delays or cancellations. If, for any reason whatsoever, winner is unable to travel after travel arrangements have been made, Sponsor shall have no further obligation to winner and no alternate winner will be selected. Prize elements may not be separated or redeemed for cash. Winner is responsible for obtaining and possessing all required valid photo ID, passport and/or other relevant travel documents prior to travel. Winner is responsible for obtaining travel insurance (and all other forms of insurance) at their option and hereby acknowledge that Sponsor has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance.

Twenty-Five (25) Secondary Prizes – $100 (One Hundred U.S. Dollars) awarded via a Western Union money transfer to the entrant named on the winning entry utilizing the Sender’s information provided at the time the Qualifying Transaction was made. Corporations, associations, organizations, or other groups are not eligible. If the winner is from a mail-in entry, the prize will be awarded to the individual named on the mail-in entry via a Western Union money transfer, and winner may be required to provide Sponsor with his/her bank name, bank routing number (ABA RTN) and bank account number.

Total value of all prizes available to be won in this Promotion is $12,500. Limit of one prize per person/family/household. Prizes consist of only the items specifically listed as part of the prize. All prize details not specifically set forth herein will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. All costs and expenses associated with the acceptance and use of a prize not specified herein including, but not limited to, all federal, state and local taxes, and other miscellaneous travel expenses are winner’s sole responsibility. No substitution or transfer of prize by winner permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value at its sole discretion.

The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Sweepstakes if it cannot be executed as planned for any reason or event beyond Sponsor’s control, including but not limited to a Force Majeure event or occurrence, an “act of God” (e.g., natural disaster, etc.) or an unforeseeable health event (e.g., pandemic) making it inadvisable, impractical, impossible or illegal or which materially affects a parties ability to perform its obligations under this agreement in whole or in part, or if fraud, technical failures, human error or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If terminated, Sponsor may, at its discretion, award the prize from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to the time of such action. In no event will more than the stated number of prizes be awarded. Released Parties assume no responsibility for undeliverable email messages resulting from any form of active or passive email filtering by a user’s Internet service provider and/or email client or for insufficient space in user’s email account to receive email. Released Parties are not responsible for computer, network, technical, printing, typographical, human or other errors, problems or malfunctions relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including without limitation, errors, problems or malfunctions which may occur in connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the announcement of the prizes, the processing of entries or in any Sweepstakes-related materials; or for transactions or mail that are lost, misdirected, or fail to enter into the processing system for any reason; or are processed, reported, or transmitted late or incorrectly. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil law and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any promotional materials and the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, the Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control. Sponsor not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of prizes. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND COSTS (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Entrants/winners agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Released Parties and their respective successors and assigns from and against any claim or cause of action or liability (including but not limited to, personal injury, death or damage to or loss of property) arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or from the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize or any prize related-activity, or any claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trademark infringement or any other intellectual property-related cause of action. Prize winner agrees and acknowledges that he/she will be solely responsible for any actions, claims or liabilities of their guest associated with any prize-related activity, including, without limitation, any actions, claims or liabilities related to a guest’s use of the prize. Prize winner shall bear all risk of loss or damage to the prize after it has been delivered/awarded. The components of the prize are subject to change based on local health and safety guidelines at the time of award. In the event any portion of the prize is cancelled or postponed for any reason, the Released Parties will have no further obligation to award compensation in lieu thereof. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor and its agencies to use winner’s name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, including a winners list, unless prohibited by law.

All questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the Entrant and Sponsor in connection with this Giveaway, will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado without regard to its choice of laws or conflict of law provisions. CLAIMS MAY NOT BE RESOLVED THROUGH ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION. By participating, Entrants irrevocably consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the federal and state courts of Colorado for any action, suit or proceeding arising out of or relating to this Sweepstakes. Entrant agrees that any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred, including any costs associated with participation in this Giveaway but in no event attorneys’ fees; and under no circumstances will Entrants/Winner be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrants/Winner hereby waive all rights to claim, punitive, incidental and consequential damages or any other damages other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
