You may be able to use a money order to pay a bill and you may be able to cash your money order at banks and other retailers (grocery stores, check-cashing locations or other stores where you’ve been able to cash checks in the past). In some circumstances, the bank or retailer may charge you to cash your money order. You may also be able to deposit the money order into your bank account.

If your money order was lost or stolen and you have the receipt:
Print and complete the money order customer request form and return the receipt and the $15 nonrefundable processing fee to the listed address.
If your money order was lost or stolen and you don't have the receipt:
Print and complete the money order research request form,and mail it with the $30 nonrefundable processing fee to the listed address.
If the money order has not been cashed, you'll get a refund. If it has been cashed, you'll get a copy of it.
