To send money to Italy online, you’ll need to follow these steps:

1. Log in to your online profile or register, then click ‘Send now’ to start your money transfer.
2. Decide how much money you wish to send and select how your loved one wants to receive their transfer. The two options are straight to their bank account or cash pickup.
3. You’ll then choose your payment method. Select either credit²/debit card, Klarna or bank transfer. Click ‘Continue’.
4. Choose to send money to a past receiver or someone new. If you’re sending money to Italy for cash pickup, you’ll just need the receiver’s personal details, the purpose of transfer and the source of the funds. If they’re receiving money to their bank account, you’ll also need their IBAN.
5. Pay using your credit²/debit card.
6. When your receipt arrives, make sure you take note of your MTCN, so you and your receiver can track the transfer.

To send money to Italy online, there’s some essential information you need depending on whether your loved one is receiving the money to their bank account or for cash pickup:

• Bank account – Your receiver’s personal details, IBAN, the amount to transfer and information about the purpose of transfer and source of funds.
• Cash pickup – Their personal details, how much you want to transfer and a reason for the purpose of transfer and source of funds.

If you want to send money to a bank account in Italy using a bank transfer, then you can send up to 50,000 GBP. Send money to Italy from an agent location by following these steps:

1. Discover your nearest agent location using our finder tool.
2. Display your valid government-issued ID, usually a driving license or passport, to a member of staff.
3. Provide your receiver’s details, such as their bank and account information.
4. Pay for your transfer with cash or bank card.
5. Keep hold of the tracking number (MTCN) on the receipt. You can share it with your receiver to track your transfer’s progress.

You are also able to start your transfer online or on the app, before heading to your nearest agent location to pay – you must complete the payment within 24 hours. No paper forms are needed at this stage, you’ll just need to bring your photo ID.

The speed of your money transfer to Italy can vary, and depends on a few different things, including your chosen method of transfer. Generally, your money will arrive on the same banking day, though the transfer could be done in minutes if it’s for cash pickup at an agent location.
