To receive money to a Jamaican bank account, your receiver will need to first complete a one-time registration process.
After receiving the MTCN and an SMS, your receiver must go to a Grace Kennedy location in Jamaica for a short registration process
For the one-time registration process, they will need a primary ID, a secondary ID and a proof of bank account (letter, bank statement, online banking screenshot)
Once registration is complete, the money will be deposited immediately to the receiver’s bank account***

What is the maximum amount you can send online with Western Union?
If you’re a first time customer, the maximum amount you can send is £799.99 within five days. To send more, we need to verify your identity. Once the identity verification process is complete, your send limit will increase to £4,000 within three days. Please note that send limits vary depending on the transfer method – in particular, agent locations may have differing limits.
Can you get your money back from Western Union?
You can only cancel a money transfer if it had not been picked up by your receiver. If you sent money to a bank account, you can cancel the transfer if it had not yet been completed by your receiver’s bank. To get your money back, request a refund by contacting us for assistance. If you sent the money in person, please return to the agent location.
Do you need ID to send money with Western Union?
ID verification is required when you send more than £799.99 in one transfer (or within 5 days in total). If you are planning to send more, we will need photo ID (such as a passport or a driving license) and a proof of address. You can find out more about our ID process here.
