    What is the maximum amount you can send online with Western Union?

    If you’re a first time customer, the maximum amount you can send is £799.99 within 5 days. To send more, we need to verify your identity. After the identity verification process is complete, your send limit will increase to £4,000 within 3 days. Please note that send limits vary depending on the transfer method – in particular, agent locations may have different limits.

    Can you get your money back from Western Union?

    You can only cancel a money transfer if it has not been picked up by your receiver. If you sent money to a bank account, you can cancel the transfer if it has not yet been completed by your receiver’s bank. To get your money back, request a refund by contacting us for assistance. If you sent the money in person, please return to the agent location.

    Do you need ID to send money with Western Union?

    ID verification is required when you send more than £799.99 in one transfer (or within 5 days in total). If you are planning to send more, we will need photo ID (such as a passport or a driving licence) and a proof of address. You can find out more about our ID process here.
