How do I get the Western Union® mobile app?

You can download the Western Union® money transfer app from the Apple App Store for iOS or from Google Play for Android devices.

How do I send money with the Western Union® mobile app?

Before you transfer money with the app, you need to download it on the Apple App Store for iOS, or Google Play Store for Android devices. New users can follow the necessary steps to register a profile. Once you complete your registration, simply:

  1. Log in with your Touch ID or your credentials.
  2. Start a money transfer with the app by entering the destination country and the amount you would like to send. Choose the payout method that works for you: directly to a bank account, for cash pickup, or to a mobile wallet based on your receiver’s country. Enter your receiver’s details.
  3. Pay for your money transfer with the app via debit or credit2 card, or with your bank account.
  4. We will provide the tracking number for your transfer (MTCN). You can track this on the money transfer app. Share this number with your receiver to track the funds. If sending to a mobile wallet, you and your receiver will get a confirmation alert via text notification4 when the money is delivered.
Can I pay in cash even if I use the Western Union® app to send money?

Yes, you can save time at the counter by starting your money transfer on our app or online and pay in cash at a participating agent location. When you begin a money transfer with the app, you will be provided with the option to pay in cash at an agent location.
