Send money to Thailand

To transfer money to Thailand online, you’ll need to follow these simple steps:

1. First, log in to your profile if you’re an existing customer, or register for a free profile. Click ‘Send now’.
2. Choose Thailand as your destination and enter your money transfer amount.
3. Then, choose how your loved one wants to receive their money. This could be cash pickup, debit card or to their bank account. You’ll also need to select the way you would like to pay – credit¹/debit card, bank transfer or Sofort – or Apple Pay^® when using our app.
4. Click ‘Continue’ and enter their details or select a previous receiver.
5. Pay for your money transfer by selecting your preferred method.
6. Take note of your unique tracking number (MTCN) and share this with your receiver. They’ll need it to track their funds.

To do this, you’ll need to:

1. Start by heading to a Western Union agent location near you.
2. Go straight to the counter with a valid, government-issued ID. You’ll also need your receiver’s details and may be asked to prove your source of funds and a purpose for your money transfer.
3. Pay with cash or a card.
4. Collect your receipt and unique tracking number (MTCN). Use this to track your money transfer.

Once you’ve chosen the amount you’d like to transfer, receiving option and payment method, you’ll see an estimated cost of the money transfer on the right-hand sign of the screen. This means you can have a transparent estimate before you commit to your money transfer to Thailand.

You can send up to EUR 16,000 in a single money transfer to Thailand online if your loved one wants to receive the money direct to their bank account via a bank transfer. If you’re paying using a credit¹/debit card the maximum amount is EUR 4,000 or with Sofort it is EUR 5,000. For cash pickup, the maximum amount you can send online is EUR 5,000 or EUR 6,200 in person. To a debit card, you can send up to EUR 2,200.
