TERMS AND CONDITIONS – 2023 CELEBRITY MEET & GREET CAMPAIGN

  1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. By participating this, all participants agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The promoter of this Promotion is Western Union Japan K.K. All activities relating to marketing of the Promotion is done by Western Union Japan K.K.
  3. The promo is open to all Japan residents aged 18 years or above. Employees and relatives within the second degree of consanguinity or affinity of Creative Affairs Team Inc and Western Union, Western Union® Agents and Sub-agents, and service providers/marketing agencies associated with this Promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
  4. This Promotion starts on 12:00am (Japan Standard Time) on 10 November 2023 and ends on 11:59pm (Japan Standard Time) on 5 December 2023 (“Promotion Period”). All transactions made after 11:59pm (Japan Standard Time) on 5 December 2023 will not be accepted and will be considered as invalid.
  5. All Eligible Participants who, during the Promotion Period, successfully sends a Western Union® Money Transfer in the amount of at least JPY 25,000 or its foreign currency conversion (principal amount, inclusive of Documentary Stamp Tax (DST)—if applicable) from Japan to the Philippines, in any of the available platforms in Japan (such as wu.com, Western Union mobile app, 7Bank, WUPOS, Familymart, City Express, or partners) via one of the following Western Union channels will be eligible for an entry into the Promotion.
    • Remittance sent for cash payout at retail locations
    • Remittance sent for cash payout but receiver pulls into a mobile wallet
    • Remittance sent through the receiver’s bank account
    • Remittance sent through receiver’s mobile wallet (i.e., Gcash, Maya, Lazada Wallet, ShopeePay, Grabpay)
  1. In order to claim their prize, an Eligible Participant (sender) will be contact by any of the Western Union Japan K.K. or it’s partners (such as 7Bank, depending on the method that was used by the customer)
  2. An Eligible Participant (sender) may enter the Promotion as many times in the campaign period. In the event an Eligible Participant has been drawn to win more than once, only one prize will be given.
  3. There will be a total of 100 lucky winners for a slot at the meet & greet event with the present celebrities at the Western Union sponsored event at December 16-17, 2023 event in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
  4. The price is a slot for the meet & greet is approximately one (1) minute long per individual. Individuals for the meet & greet event are to adhere to the event organizer’s guidelines. The meet & greet event is approximately one (1) hour long each day, on December 16 and 17, 2023.
  5. The winners will be selected by raffle draw to be held on 11 December 2023 at 4pm local time (GMT+9) at the Western Union Japan K.K. office.
  6. This is a randomized drawing for Western Union customers that is not intended to and should not influence any decisions or actions for the benefit of Western Union. The promotion is compliant with all applicable anti-bribery and corruption laws and regulations.
  7. The meet & greet event is provided by a third-party provider, subject to their respective terms and conditions. The third-party provider will be responsible for any matters arising from or in connection with the prizes, services, and/or information they provide in relation to which Western Union will have no liability whatsoever. Any enquiry or complaint regarding the prizes, services, and/or information should be directed to such third-party provider. Western Union will not be held liable to the quality and availability of the prizes, services and information provided by the third-party provider, and excludes liability in connection with the promotion once the winner(s) enjoys any benefit relating to the promotion of the full extent permitted by law.
  8. The winning sender and partnered receiver will be notified via callout and/or email.
  9. In the event that the winning sender cannot by any valid case to the meet & greet event (i.e., work permit doesn’t allow to leave the area, no approval from the employer, medical reasons etc.), the winner will get the corresponding prize equivalent in the form one (1) Western Union branded merchandise that is readily available in inventory.
    • Examples: T-shirt, Hoodie, Foldable Umbrella, Mugs.
  10. The winner of a corresponding prize equivalent in the form one (1) Western Union branded merchandise that is readily available in inventory will have the merchandise mailed to their registered home address.
  11. Western Union will not be liable for the condition of the merchandise during the delivery process.
  12. The prize is non-transferrable and not convertible to cash.
  13. If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties or failures, unauthorised intervention or fraud, vandalism, power failure, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any Eligible Participant.
  14. Subject to any applicable laws which cannot be excluded, the Promoter and its related bodies corporate and agents associated with this Promotion shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained by anyone (including, but not limited to, direct or indirect loss, consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this Promotion or any prize provided as part of this Promotion.

Acceptance of any prize, benefit and/or offer provided by the Promoter will be deemed as consent by the winner(s) to take part in any related publicity and using their name, likeness, image and/or voice for advertising and other promotional purposes without compensation, except as otherwise prohibited by any applicable law.
  17. The Promoter collects personal information (“PI”) in order to conduct the Promotion and may disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to regulatory authorities. Participants agree to provide this PI. The use and handling of PI is seen in the Privacy Statement, which can be viewed at [https://www.westernunion.com/content/wucom/global/en/privacy-statement.html]. The Privacy Statement also contains information about how Eligible Participants may opt out, access, update or correct their PI, and how Eligible Participants may complain about a breach of their privacy or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with. The Promoter will not disclose Eligible Participant’s personal information to any entity outside of the country in which it was originally collected. A request to access, update or correct any PI should be directed to the Promoter.
  18. To the extent that there is any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and other marketing materials or collateral produced in relation to this Promotion, these terms and conditions will be followed.
  19. This campaign will end on 15 January 2024. All unclaimed prizes after 15 January 2014 11:59pm (Japan Standard Time) will be forfeited.
