How to Provide Your Identification

If we haven’t been able to verify the information in your profile, we’ll send you an email asking you to provide proof of your identity and address before you can send money online with us again. The email will include these instructions:

STEP 1: Photocopy or scan one of the following photo IDs:

  • Passport
  • EU/EEA ID card
  • EU driving license (photocard version only)
  • EU residence permit
  • Emergency Travel Document

Please ensure to photocopy or scan the front and back of your photo ID and ensure the picture, signature, birthdate, expiration date are visible and the copy is full.


STEP 2: Photocopy or scan one of the following proof-of-address documents:

  • Utility bill
  • Credit card statement
  • Bank statement

Please note your proof of address document must not be older than 3 months and your name and address need to be visible and current. Also, please ensure the issuing date and company name/logo are visible.

All documents are accepted as online documents retrieved in .pdf or .jpg format.


STEP 3: Return documents to Western Union

Send us your copies of your ID and proof of address to: Western Union Processing Lithuania, Online and Prepaid customer Identification Unit, Balcikonio str. 9C, LT-08247, Vilnius, Lithuania

OR

Attach copies as PDFs or JPGs and email to id@westernunion.com


STEP 4: Check ID status

Log in to your profile to check your status. If we need more information, we will email you. Once your identity is verified, you will receive a confirmation email from us. In the meantime, you can send money by visiting a nearby agent location.


* Please send us a COPY of your identification, not the original. Keep the original in a safe place.
