Where are you sending your money from?

Your online ID verification

We’d like to verify your identity to get to know you and your needs. This will allow us to serve you better.

You may send up to 799.99 GBP from the United Kingdom and territories without any additional ID verification. If you would like to send more, we need to confirm your identity online. Once we have confirmed your ID, you’ll be able to send up to 4,000 GBP. For bank transfer (faster payment) to bank account payouts, you’ll be able to send up to 50,000 GBP per transfer depending on the selected country. Bank transfer is available for UK residents only. Additional limits may apply.

Confirm your personal details

Save time by making sure your personal profile information is up-to-date.
You don’t have to do anything while we verify the information in your profile. If we need anything more, we will email you.
After your identity is verified, you will receive a confirmation email.

Do we need more information from you?

If we need more information from you, we’ll request you to send us the following documents at id@westernunion.com (as PDFs or JPGs):

Save time by making sure your documents are clear and easy to read before sending them.


  • Accepted documents:
    • Passport
    • EU/EEA ID
    • EU driving license (photocard version only)
    • EU residence permit
    • Emergency Travel Document

  • Your copy must include the front and the back of your ID document
  • Your photo ID document must be valid and complete
  • Information must match your Western Union profile
  • Signature on ID document or signature page must be visible (if applicable)


  • Accepted documents (paper/online):
    • Electricity bill
    • Gas bill
    • Phone bill
    • Bank or credit card statement

  • The proof of address must contain:
    • The date (less than 90 days old)
    • Your full name(first, middle and last names) as they appear on your ID and your Western Union profile
    • Your home address as indicated in your Western Union online profile
    • The issuing company’s name and logo

After your identity is verified, you will receive a confirmation email.
If you need to send money now, please visit a nearby Western Union agent location.
