To make international transfers at an authorized Western Union store or correspondent, follow the step-by-step instructions:
1. Find the nearest store using the locator here on the website, or using the WU® Brasil App.
2. Show the attendant a valid photo ID in good condition. Please refer to the documentation item for information on all valid documents to make an international transfer at a Western Union store or correspondent.
3. Give the attendant the total amount of your transfer, adding the corresponding fees and fees.
**Please note: some stores or authorized correspondents may require you to start the transfer process online, entering the transaction information through the WU.com website or WU® Brasil App, before going in person. Please contact your nearest retailer to see if they require this type of procedure.
**Local taxes may apply. In addition to the service fee, the amount referring to the IOF (Financial Operations Tax) and the exchange rate will be added to the total value of the operation.
You can log in or register with Western Union, on our website or through the app, to make your transfer, saving you the time of going to a Western Union store or correspondent. Follow these steps:
1. On our website or app, choose the “Send Money” option.
2. Select the recipient’s country, the amount you want to send, and then choose the “Pay in cash” option in the “How you want to pay” section.
3. Review the transfer information and select “Submit”.
4. Find the nearest store here on the website, or through the WU® Brasil app.
5. For the in-store clerk, let them know that you initiated your transfer in the app or through the website. Please present your phone number and a valid government-issued photo ID in good condition*.
6. Provide the agent with the total amount of your transfer, including applicable fees.* See the documentation item for all valid documents.
Please note that this service is only available in certain countries. You’ll be asked to show your ID, as well as other information like your recipient’s bank account information. Then, provide the agent with the full amount, including applicable fees. Once the agent receives the payment, the money will be deposited into the recipient’s bank account within 3 business days. It is necessary to provide:
For Brazilians:
• Driver’s License (CNH)1, Identity Card (RG)2 or;
• CPF + Work and Social Security Card (CTPS) or;
• CPF + Professional Order Card.
For foreigners residing in Brazil:
• CPF + Driver’s License (CNH) or;
• CPF + National Migration Registry (RNM/RNE)3 or;
• CPF + Work and Social Security Card (CTPS) or;
• CPF + Protocol of provisional asylum request, issued by the Federal Police (Law 9.474/1997), provided that it is original and within 180 days, counted from its issuance.
For non-resident foreigners:
• Foreigner Identity Card (for Mercosur countries)4 or;
•Passport.
Only original documents with a photo, in good condition and within the stipulated expiration date, are accepted.
