Registration and profile settings

Do I need to register to send money online?

Yes. After you’ve successfully registered online, choose one of the methods below to get your identity verified:

  • Automatic verification if you are an existing and verified Al Fardan Exchange customer.
  • Online by uploading front and back pictures of your valid Emirates ID and a selfie.
  • Assisted by requesting an agent’s visit at your preferred location.
  • In-person by visiting the nearest Al Fardan’s Exchange location

After your identity verification is completed, you can start sending money right away.

 

How can I delete my Western Union profile?

Please contact Western Union Customer Care on the toll-free number 800 SENDWU (800 736398) or send an email to wu.support@alfardanexchange.com.

 

What do I need to register and send money online through Western Union?

Anyone who meets the following requirements can register and start sending money online:
  • Be a resident of the United Arab Emirates
  • Have a valid Emirates ID
  • Be at least 18 years of age on the date of application
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions
  • Have a valid phone number
  • Have a bank account in the United Arab Emirates

 

How can I change or update my Western Union® profile?

You can change or update your Western Union® profile nformation from the ‘Profile overview’ tab after you log in to the westernunion.com site.

After your identity is verified, you cannot change your name, last name, date of birth, country of birth, nationality, ID number, or mobile number. If you need to change this information after your identity is verified, please call Customer Care on the toll-free number 800 SENDWU (800 736398).  You can also send an email to wu.support@alfardanexchange.com

 

What do I do if I forgot my user ID, password or if my profile is locked?

Your user ID is your email address or your mobile number.

If you forgot your password, follow the steps below to reset it:

  1. Select Forgot your password? on the login page.
  2. Enter the email address or the mobile number you registered with and select Reset password.
  3. Enter the one-time password (OTP) you’ll receive over email or SMS.
  4. Reset your password by creating a new one.

If you exceeded the number of failed login attempts and your profile has been locked, you can try again after 30 minutes.

What do I do if I want to change my password or email address?

To update your password, go to your Profile page and select Change password.

You can only have one email address in your profile. After you verify your email, you cannot change it.

 

Is there a charge to register at Western Union’s website?

No, it’s free of charge.

How many times can I register?

Registration with a valid Emirates ID is possible only once.

How do I update my email address in my profile?

Follow the steps below to update your email address:

  1. Log into your profile.
  2. Enter the new email address and select Save to confirm the changes.
  3. Verify your email address.
  4. Select continue.

After you’ve successfully updated your email address, use the new email address to log into your Western Union profile. 

Note: The option to update your email address is not yet available on the mobile app.

How do I register with Western Union?

If you are a new user, you can register with Western Union via our website or mobile app.

Steps to register on our website or app:

  1. Select Join now.
  2. Enter the required details.
  3. Verify your email address.
  4. Log into your new profile.

How do I log into my Western Union profile?

To log into your Western Union profile, please follow the steps below:

  1. Select Log in.
  2. Enter your registered email address and password.
  3. Choose Continue or Log in to proceed. 

If you forget your password, you can reset it by choosing Forgot password.

How do I change my profile privacy and marketing settings?

  1. On the website, log into your Western Union profile.
  2. Click the Menu icon and select Settings from the dropdown.
  3. In the Information sharing section, select the check box.
  4. Select Save changes.

How do I delete my profile?

We’re sorry to see you go.

Please note that you will lose your existing MyWU points (if any) by taking this step and your complete transfer history will be erased.

To delete your profile, contact our Customer Care.

How do I change my password?

Follow the steps below to change your password:  

  1. Log into your profile. 
  2. Choose Reset password.
  3. Enter the new password and select Save.

How do I update my postal address and phone number?

Follow these steps to update your postal address and phone number:

On our website or the Western Union mobile app:

  1. Log into your profile.
  2. Select your name from the menu at the top. 
  3. Enter your new postal address and phone number. 
  4. Select Save or Update to confirm the changes.
