    How do I send money online to Nigeria?

    Sending money to Nigeria from the UK is easy online. Follow these simple steps.

    1. Either register for a free profile or log into your existing account.
    2. Select ‘Send now’ and select Nigeria. Enter your amount in GBP to easily calculate the naira equivalent.
    3. Choose ‘Bank account’ and enter your receiver’s name and bank details.
    4. Pay with your card3 or bank account to send the funds.
    5. Check your email receipt for the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). Share this securely with your receiver – as they’ll need it to pick up the cash. You can also use this number to track your transfer.
    How do I send money to Nigeria from a Western Union agent location?
    1. Search for a Western Union location near you. We have over 3,800 locations2 across the UK.
    2. Bring a valid government-issued ID or phone number to your branch, along with your receiver’s bank details or agent location in Nigeria. You might also need to prove your source of funds – so bring a recent bank statement or payslip too.
    3. Pay by cash or card.
    4. Get your receipt and Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). Share this with your receiver and you can both use it to track your order.
