What do I need to transfer money internationally?

Before you can start an international transfer online, you’ll need to register for a Western Union profile and provide some essential information, such as:

  • A form of government issued I.D. such as a passport or driver’s licence.
  • Your receiver’s details. The information you need will depend on how your loved one wants to receive their money transfer.
  • The transfer amount.
  • Your preferred payment method and the receiving method.
  • Your receiver’s payment details.

If you’re transferring in person, you won’t need to register for an account. However, you will still need to provide the above details.
