How can I cancel a money transfer after it was sent?

A money transfer can only be cancelled if it has not been collected by the receiver in the destination country or haven’t been deposit in your receiver’s bank account.

How do I complete my first money transfer online in Ecuador?

Before you register and get a Western Union online profile, make sure you have a bank account created in Ecuador with online access. Once you register and get a profile confirmation, you may start your first money transfer online right away.

Registration is simple and takes only a few minutes. During your profile verification process, you’ll be asked to visit a verification location and show a valid government-issued ID and provide the email used for online registration. If your profile is successfully confirmed, you will then be able to send money online.

How do I know if my online transfer has been successfully completed?

Once you get the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) on the receipt, you’ll have 72 hours to deposit the funds, after the money is transferred you’ll get a confirmation to your email. You can also see the details of all your transfers in your profile section on wu.com

How much money can I send online from Ecuador?

Once your profile has been confirmed at an agent location, you will be able to send online up to 7,500 USD per day and up to 15,000 USD within 90 rolling days. For transfers over 3,000 USD per calendar month additional information will be collected.  If you need to send more please visit an agent location.

How do I know when my MTCN will expire?

An email notification will inform you about the status of your MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number). The MTCN is valid for 72 hours after created. If funds are not received within 72 hours, the MTCN expires.

You will be notified by email 24 hours before the MTCN expires.

Please note that only one active MTCN is allowed per customer. Once a MTCN is created, you should not start another money transfer online until the current one is completed or cancelled.
