This Mobile Application is purely informative and transactions cannot be made through it. Any money transfer transaction performed within the countries is performed by a local company duly authorized to carry out such activities.
1. App Purpose and Services:
The App is not intended to be used by, and is not marketed or directed towards, any person under the age of majority in his or her country of residence.
Our Privacy Statement, which can be accessed from the Application, describes how we collect, use and disclose personal information. Certain functions of the application may need to access your mobile phone, tablet or other mobile device (the "Device") and the information stored on it to work properly. You acknowledge, understand and agree that by using the Application you give us your consent for this.
All content and data made available through the App, is owned solely and exclusively by us and/or third parties. You may not: (a) publish, publicly perform or display, or communicate to the public or otherwise distribute to any third party any of its content; (b) market, sell, re-sell or make commercial use of the App or any of its content; (c) systematically collect from or make derivative uses of the App or of its content.
You understand and agree that if you make any information, data or content available to us on or through the App, including by contacting us, or by providing comments or ideas about our Services or the App, you are deemed to grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to store, use, copy reproduce, modify, adapt, edit, translate, publish, perform and display any such content, without any payment or restriction. You understand and agree that you are solely responsible and liable for any content you make available on or through the App or that is made available using your App account.
6. Intellectual Property
The WESTERN UNION name and logo, and all names logos related to the App or Services are either trademarks or registered trademarks of the company (or its affiliates, suppliers, partner businesses or licensors, as applicable). You acknowledge that the App, the Services and any underlying technology used in connection with the Services contain intellectual property and proprietary information. You may not use, reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works of, publicly display (including by framing any content), or commercially exploit any part of the App or Services, or aforementioned registered or unregistered trademarks, intellectual property or proprietary information except as necessary to view the content therein and to create a reasonable number of copies of portions of such content (without modification) for your personal, non-commercial use. In addition, all page headers, custom graphics, button icons, and scripts are service marks and/or trademarks of Western Union. You may not use, reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works of them without our prior written consent.
All right, title and interest in and to the App, any content thereon, the Services, the technology used in connection with the Services, and any and all technology and any content created or derived from any of the foregoing is the exclusive property of Western Union (or its affiliates, suppliers, partner businesses or licensors, as applicable).
8. Use Restrictions
You understand and agree that when using the App you will not: (a) permit any other person to use your profile for their benefit; (b) interfere with or circumvent any copyright or other technical protection mechanism or reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise in any manner deconstruct all or any part of the App or any software or technology or content forming part thereof; (c) take any action or use any program or device that may result in or is intended to interfere with the operation and functioning of the App or to shut down, overload or overwhelm the Website; (d) copy, republish or redistribute any part of the App, including by caching, framing or similar means; or (e) send it to anyone else or copy or modify any part of it in any way; (f) attempt to extract any source code from the App, disassemble it or make any derivative versions, or attempt to interrupt or decipher the transmissions between the App and our systems.
In addition, understand and agree you must not use the App for any of the following purposes:
(i) anything unlawful or illegal or which is fraudulent or malicious or which promotes any criminal activity or provides information about the same;
(ii) anything which is defamatory, harassing or threatening or which otherwise infringes or violates the rights of others. This includes any information that you may add or upload to the App;
(iii) interfering in any way with any other user of the App; and/or
(iv) knowingly introducing viruses or other malicious or harmful material or using it in connection with unsolicited communications.
8. Charges and Minimum system requirements
You understand and agree that you may be charged by your service provider for downloading and/or accessing the App on your Device. These charges may include data roaming charges if you do this outside your home territory. You understand and agree that all these charges are solely your responsibility. If you do not pay the bills for your Device then we assume that you have the permission from the person that does before incurring any of these charges. We will not charge a separate fee for accessing the App, but you may be charged fees for using the Services that may be offered through the App. Western Union will prominently disclose any fees charged by Western Union prior to you being charged. The App will only work on compatible Devices and operating systems and certain functionality will only work if your Device is connected to the internet. Some features may also only be available with certain operating systems.
You understand and agree that we have the right to monitor and review your use of the App and Services from time to time, and to use “cookies”, “log files” and your “browsing data” in accordance with the Privacy Statement.
We may in our sole discretion provide you with troubleshooting support concerning your use of the App and any Services, but you understand and agree that we are under no obligation to do so.
11. The App and Services are provided “as is” and “as available”
You understand and agree that the App and its content and the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis and, except to the extent expressly provided for under applicable law, the we expressly disclaim all representations or warranties or conditions of any kind or nature whatsoever, whether express or implied, and whether arising by statute or otherwise in law, from a course of dealing or usage of trade, including without limitation, any implied warranties or conditions, any condition or warranty of merchantability, title or non-infringement of third parties rights and any condition or warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.
We may provide links on the App to other web-based resources, including those operated by parties other than us. These links are provided for your convenience and you understand and agree that we are not responsible for the availability of such websites or resources operated by third parties, over which Western Union holds no responsibility. In addition, you understand and agree that we do not endorse or accept responsibility for the content of such external websites or resources. Your access and viewing of any third party websites or resources is conducted at your own risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, Western Union and its affiliates, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, consultants and agents will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages or any loss that results from the use of, or the inability to use, the App or the Services, or for any loss or transmission of any confidential or sensitive data or information.

WESTERN UNION® MONEY TRANSFERSM SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
Western Union® Money TransferSM transactions can be sent and picked up at most Western Union® Agent locations worldwide. Customers may call the number listed below for the address and hours of nearby locations.
Regular money transfers are usually available within minutes (Money in Minutes) for pick up by the receiver, subject to the opening hours of the receiving Western Union Agent (“Agent”) location. The Next Day/2 Day services are available upon request to limited countries and will be available for collection within 24 and 48 hours respectively. Transfers generally take 3 business days, though transfers to mobile wallets are often available within minutes. Exceeding amount limitations, regulatory restrictions or other restrictions in certain countries may delay the transaction. Western Union does not act as the agent or representative of any bank for any purpose and does not accept deposits on behalf of any bank. Money transfers will normally be paid in cash, but some Agents will pay by cheque or a combination of cash and cheque or may offer or the Receiver may choose other ways to receive funds and some money transfers may be paid to accounts.
All cash payments are subject to availability, receivers showing documentary evidence of their identity and providing all details about the money transfer required by Western Union, including Sender’s and Receiver’s names, country of origin, approximate expected sum, the money transfer control number (MTCN) and any other conditions or requirements as applicable. The Sender authorizes Western Union to honor the Receiver’s choice of method to receive funds even if it differs from the Sender’s. Cash money transfers shall be paid to the person that Agents deem entitled to receive the transaction after verification of identity requiring the identification documents. In some destinations, the Receiver may be required to provide identification, a test question answer or both to receive funds in cash. Test questions are not an additional security feature and cannot be used to time or delay the payment of a transaction and are prohibited in certain countries.
The proof question is not allowed in Dominican Republic. The Western Union service is design to send money to people you know and trust. The services should not be used to buy goods or services on line (Internet), using an assumed name or nickname, or a partial identification for the recipient or beneficiary. Your money might be at risk if the money is sent to an unknown person. Take into consideration that is difficult to solve fraud cases ones the money has been sent, the money transfers are paid in a short time lapse, and after the payment Western Union won’t be able to reimburse the money. Applicable law prohibits money transmitters from doing business with certain individuals and countries. Western Union is required to screen all transactions against lists of names provided by the governments of the countries in which we do business, including the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the European Union. If a potential match is identified, Western Union researches the transaction to determine if the name matched is the individual on the relevant list. On occasion, customers are required to provide additional identification or information, delaying transactions. This is a legal requirement for all transactions processed by Western Union (inclusive of transfers that originate and terminate outside of the US).
TRANSFER FEES – Money transfer cost information will either be shown to the Sender prior to completion of the transaction. Unless applicable law in the destination country requires otherwise, the Sender will bear all fees for the money transfer. In certain cases, payment of a money transfe on the destiny country may be subject to local taxes and service charges.
FOREIGN EXCHANGE - Money transfer normally be paid in the currency of the destination country. In addition to the charges settle for the transfer, an exchange rate settle by Western Union will be applied. Most rates of exchange are adjusted several times daily with the relevant closing rate of global financial markets. Any difference between the currency exchange rate offered to customers and the currency exchange rate received by Western Union will be kept by Western Union (and, in some instances, its Agents) in addition to the transfer fees.
SENDING AND RECIVING MOEY FROM COUNTRIES THAT OFER DIFFERENT DIVECE PAYMENTS. When you send money, you must select the currency in which the payment will be done. The transfer charge that Western Union or it´s agents do when your funds are converted into a foreign currency, might change depending on the currency the payment is made, as settle by your directions. Some Western Union Agent´s offer the Receiver the option of receiving the funds in a currency different from the one the Sender specify. Western Union or its Agents may make additional money through the conversion into the currency selected by the receiver.
SPECIAL SERVICES - TELEPHONE NOTIFICATION to the Receiver that the money transfer is available for pick up is offered in most countries for an additional fee. MESSENGER DELIVERY of a cheque or a bank draft is available in some countries to selected destinations for an additional fee. SUPPLEMENTAL MESSAGES may be freely included with money transfers sent to most countries.
TEXT MESSEGES (SMS)– Where available, Western Union offers free SMS notification to indicate that the transaction has been collected by the Receiver (for the Sender) or that funds are available for collection (for Receiver).
REFUND - Western Union will refund the principal amount of a money transfer (upon the written request of the Sender) if payment is not made or credited to the Receiver. Transfer fee refunds are made upon Sender’s written request if the money transfer is not available to the Receiver within the time specified for the selected service, subject to the business hours of, and availability of funds at, the location selected for payment and other conditions, including, without limitation, conditions beyond the control of Western Union or its Agents, such as inclement weather or telecommunications failure. Transfer fees are not refunded if the transfer is stopped at the Sender’s request. Payment of some money transfers may be delayed as a result of the application of United States or other applicable laws. To the extent allowed by law, Western Union may deduct an administrative charge from money transfers that are not picked up within one year of the send date.
LIABILITY - WESTERN UNION DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE DELIVERY OR SUITABILITY OF ANY GOODS OR SERVICES PAID FOR BY MEANS OF A WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER. THE SENDER’S OR RECIVER´S TRANSACTION DATA ARE CONFIDENTIAL AND SHOULD NOT BE SHARED WITH ANY OTHER PERSON. THE SENDER IS CAUTIONED AGAINST SENDING MONEY TO ANY PERSON HE DOES NOT KNOW. IN NO EVENT SHALL WESTERN UNION OR ANY OF ITS AGENTS BE LIABLE IF THE SENDER COMMUNICATES TRANSACTIONAL DATA TO ANY PERSON OTHER THAN HIS RECEIVER. IN NO EVENT SHALL WESTERN UNION OR ANY OF ITS AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES FOR DELAY, NONPAYMENT OR UNDERPAYMENT OF THIS MONEY TRANSFER, OR NON-DELIVERY OF ANY SUPPLEMENTAL MESSAGE, WHETHER CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THEIR EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS OR OTHERWISE, BEYOND THE SUM EQUIVALENT TO US$500 (IN ADDITION TO REFUNDING THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF THE MONEY TRANSFER AND THE TRANSFER FEE). IN NO EVENT WILL WESTERN UNION OR ITS AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. THE FOREGOING DISCLAIMER SHALL NOT LIMIT WESTERN UNION’S OR AGENT’S LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM WESTERN UNION’S OR AGENT’S GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR INTENTIONAL MISCONDUCT IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS WHERE SUCH A LIMITATION OF LIABILITY IS VOID. DATA PROTECTION – Your personal information (“Information”) is processed under the applicable laws and is controlled by Western Union. Western Union uses Information provided in the money transfer or payment services instruction, together with other personal data which is collected or generated during the course of your relationship with Western Union, to include transaction and loyalty program details, transaction history and marketing preferences, for the purposes of providing the requested services including; administration, customer service, payment confirmation, user validation, fraud prevention, product/business development and other activities. Your Information may also be used in connection with other services, products, commercial communications, convenience and/or rewards programs, you signed up for with Western Union or its affiliates. Western Union will preserve and retain the money or the service payment Recipient´s information (“Third Party Information”) in order to perform the transaction.
You consent to Western Union disclosing or transferring your Information and Third Party Information to third parties located in countries such as the United States, with whom we have a contractual relationship to protect Information and Third Party Information such as authorized service providers, Agents and other third parties as reasonably required for the purposes indicated in these Terms and Conditions, and to carry out the money transfer, payment service, to facilitate future transactions, for verification purposes. Western Union may also disclose Information to third parties, where reasonably necessary, for the purposes of the prevention and detection of crime, prosecution of offenders, for purposes of national security or when required by law or competent authority. Your Information may be accessed by Western Union and our affiliates, and all other legal Western Union entities, for any of the purposes set out in these Terms and Conditions.
Western Union keeps the marketing preferences and transaction history of the Sender for no longer than the allow by law for the purposes for which the information was collected. You may also correct, erase or block Information which is incomplete, inaccurate or out-of-date. You may also object at any time on legitimate grounds relating to your particular situation to the processing of your Information, where the processing is not required to complete the service, by a law or regulation. If you wish to exercise these rights or no longer wish to receive commercial communications from Western Union, please contact Western Union using the number below during regular business hours.
