Send money directly to a bank account
It is fast, reliable, convenient and easier as well, for your beneficiary to receive funds through their bank. It is convenient because you pay no more than 2,000 JPY in transfer fees*1 to send up to one million JPY. The money is sent directly from Western Union® Agent locations, and paid into the receiver’s bank account, so getting the funds is easy and reliable for your loved ones.
1. Prepare required information
When you send money directly to a bank account, you will need to know the recipient’s bank account details. Afterwards, visit your nearest Western Union Agent location.

2. Complete the Money Transfer Application form
Please fill out Money Transfer Application Form (MTAF) at a location. You can also download MTAF from Western Union website. At any transaction, the customer is required to show the evidence(s) prove of your identification*4 and My Number (for Japanese Nationals and Foreign Residents in Japan only) *4.

3. Pay the transfer amount and transfer fee*1
Principal amount and money transfer fee*1 are only payable in Japanese currency at Western Union® Agent locations.
4. Get a receipt with MTCN
You will receive a printout of the transaction details, which will include your Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN).
5. Contact your receiver
Contact your receiver and give them details of the transfer, including the name of the sender, the amount sent and any necessary information regarding the country of origin. Do not disclose transaction details to anyone else except the intended recipient. They will also need the MTCN.
6. Check the money transfer status
Confirm money has been paid into your receiver’s account by asking your receiver to check bank account or contacting the bank. You can use the MTCN to track the status of your money transfer.

7. Money will be paid into their account
Your money will be paid into your receiver's bank account within 1 to 3 bank working days*5 depending on the destination country. You will receive a SMS message of transaction status when providing your mobile phone number.
