Use the Western Union® app to send cash at an agent location
Did you know you can start your money transfer with the app and complete it by paying cash at an agent location? Here are the benefits of using our start online and pay-in-store option:
Save time
Once your transfer information is entered on the app, we will access it through our system using just your phone number. You do not need to fill out forms or provide additional information at the agent location.
Here’s how to send money with the app:
- Download the latest version of the Western Union App.
- Log in. If you don't have a profile you can register for free.
- Enter your money transfer information:
- Destination
- Amount to send
- Payout option (cash payment or bank account transfer)
- In the "How will you pay" section, select "Pay cash".
- Complete the form with your personal information along with your receiver’s. After this, you will receive an email confirmation. Once you have received the confirmation, you will have 72 hours to make the payment at an agent location and complete your money transfer.
- Search for a Western Union agent location to pay in cash.
- Bring your photo government-issued ID, the money in cash, and your mobile phone number. Once paid, you will receive a confirmation SMS.
Keep in mind that the receiver will need to show his or her government-issued ID and the tracking number (MTCN) to get the money.
With the Western Union® app, you can send money and pay through Mercado Pago
You can start your money transfer from the app and complete it by paying for it with your Mercado Pago balance, without visiting an agent location.
Here’s how to send money with the app:
- Download the latest version of the Western Union App.
- Log in. If you don't have a profile you can register for free.
- Enter your money transfer information:
- Destination
- Amount to send
- Payout option (cash payment or bank account transfer)
- In the how will you pay section, select pay cash.
- Complete the form with your personal information along with your receiver’s. After this, you will receive an email confirmation. Once you have received the confirmation, you will have 72 hours to make the payment through Mercado Pago and complete your money transfer.
- Log in to Mercado Pago and make sure you have enough balance on your account to pay for your Western Union money transfer. Next, choose the QR code option, and scan the QR code showing on the website www.pagaturemesa.com. Send the exact amount indicated in the Western Union app. Once you have paid for the money transfer, you will receive a confirmation by email with the receipt and the tracking number (MTCN). This message could take up to 24 business hours to get to your email.

With the Western Union® app you can send money from your bank account
To send money from your bank account* with the Western Union® App, select the service that you prefer and follow the steps described below to learn how to do it.
- If you need the money to reach the destination in minutes¹, follow the instructions in the Send money from the app for cash payout section.
- If you need the money to be deposited directly into your receiver’s bank account, follow the instructions in the Send money from the app to a bank account section.
*You may send money using this option only when you have completed at least one transaction using the "pay with cash" option.

Send money from the app for cash payout
- Log in. If you don't have a profile you can register for free.
- Select the destination country, the sending amount, and the cash payout option.
- In the How will you pay section, select bank transfer². Make sure that the name of your bank account matches the name that appears on your user profile; if not, your transfer will be rejected.
- Complete the form with your personal information and your receiver’s.
- Enter your bank account information (Bank name / CBU / CUIL).
- Review the information for the money transfer and select the Send option.
- Visit your bank's website and complete a bank transfer to the bank account specified in the Western Union App for the total amount, including applicable fees.
- Your money will be available to pay out in cash as soon as we receive the money transfer payment. We will send the confirmation to you at the email address that appears on your profile.

Send money from the App to a bank account
- Log in. If you don't have a profile you can register for free.
- Select the destination country, the send amount, and the payout a bank account option.
- In the How will you pay section, select bank transfer². Make sure that the name of your bank account matches the name that appears on your user profile.
- Complete the form with your personal information and your receiver’s, including their bank account information³.
- Enter your bank account details (Bank name / CBU / CUIL).
- Review the information for the money transfer. Select the Send option.
- Visit your bank's website and complete a bank transfer to the bank account specified in the Western Union app for the total amount, including applicable fees.
- Your money will be deposited in your receiver's bank account between 1 and 3 business days (depending on the bank) after we receive the transfer payment. We will send the confirmation to you at the email address that appears on your profile.

3 Be careful when providing the recipient's bank account information. The money will be deposited into the bank account that corresponds to the account number you indicate. Remember the following: the recipient's payment account must be a charge account in the local currency of the destination country.
