Ways to receive money

Cash pickup

  1. Visit a Western Union agent location.
  2. Provide your sender's details, including the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN).
  3. Show a government-issued photo ID.
  4. Get your money once your details have been verified.

Bank account

Provide your sender these details:

  1. Your full name and bank account number 1.
  2. The purpose of remittance.
  3. Your address and mobile number.

Mobile wallet

  1. If you are a registered user of, GCash, or PayMaya in the Philippines, you may choose to receive money directly in your mobile wallet2 via Western Union. Just provide your sender with the mobile phone number that is linked to your e-wallet.
  2. To receive a transfer in your e-wallet, you must have a fully registered profile. Submit your ID info and other mandatory details to your e-wallet provider as per Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas regulations and get it verified. Check your e-wallet provider's website to learn how to register your profile.
  3. Once your sender makes the transfer, you will get a text message on your registered mobile number to confirm that the funds have been deposited into your e-wallet, or to alert you about issues, if any.
  4. Remember to ask your sender for the tracking number (MTCN) and the estimated amount sent.
