There’s no fee to download the app or to access the app from your mobile phone. However, the usual mobile phone data access and calling charges may apply. Please contact your mobile phone network provider for details.

Please note that our money transfer fees will apply when you send money using the mobile app. If you send money to a bank account and pay with POLi , you can make your transfer at a 0 NZD fee¹ until the offer lasts.

You can pay for your transfer with a Visa^® or MasterCard^® credit or debit card² issued by a New Zealand bank, or with internet banking via POLi.

Yes, you can start your money transfer on the mobile app and select the Pay in cash option. Then complete the transfer at an agent location and pay cash to the agent. Your receiver can pick up the cash from an agent location in the destination country.

No, Western Union app is free to use and can be downloaded for free through Play Store or App store.

The only charges applied will be on your money transfer fee. The transfer fee depends on the amount and receiver country you choose to send. On your first online transfer Western Union offers 0 NZD transfer fee¹ discount.

Yes, you can start a transfer on the app and pay by cash at an agent location. Simply choose Cash in store under Payment method on the app and walk to a nearby agent location to complete your transfer.

To send money via our app, please follow the steps below:

1. Log into your profile. If you don’t have a profile yet, please create one.
2. Choose your receiver’s country and select Continue.
3. Enter the send or receive amount and select Check fees.
4. Then choose any of the following delivery and payment methods: 

   Payment methods:

   • Credit/Debit Card and cash in store

   Delivery methods:

   • Cash pickup
   • Bank account (available only for selected destination countries)
   • Credit/Debit Card

    

5. Select Save and Continue to receiver.
6. Enter your receiver’s details.
7. Then select Continue to review and finally Send.

After you complete the transfer, you can track it with the tracking number (MTCN) on your receipt.

Please note that you can try a combination of different send and receive amounts and methods to get the best possible exchange rate, transfer fee and delivery time.
