FAQ Online Identification Process

If you want to send more than 1.000 CHF within a 5-day period, we will need to verify your identity. 

Here is how it works:


Step 1: Choose "Start verification" in your profile. You can also choose "I want to send money regularly" on the review page of your money transfer to start the process. You will receive a letter from us. 

Step 2: Follow the directions in the letter and fill out the confirmation form.

Step 3: Copy or scan both sides of your photo ID. Make sure your picture, signature, birthdate, and expiry date are visible. Passports and driver’s licenses are acceptable.

Step 4: Sign and date the confirmation form. Your signature must match the one on your photo ID.

Step 5: Send all documents to Western Union*:

   - By email: Save your scans as PDF or JPG and send an email with your attachments to id@westernunion.com.

    - By mail:

Step 6: Log in to your profile to check your status. Verification may take several days. When it is complete, we will email you.

*Please send us a COPY of your identification, not the original. Keep the original in a safe place.
