Ways to receive money

Cash pickup

  1. Visit a Western Union agent location.
  2. Provide your sender's details, including the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN).
  3. Show a government-issued photo ID.
  4. Get your money once your details have been verified.

Bank account

Receive money in minutes when it’s transferred directly to your BDO, BPI, or Landbank account1. Just provide the sender with the following details:

  1. Your full name.
  2. Your bank’s name and account number2.
  3. The purpose of remittance.
  4. Your address and mobile number.

Mobile wallet

  1. If you are a registered user of Coins.ph, GCash, PayMaya, USSC or PERA HUB in the Philippines, you may choose to receive money directly in your mobile wallet3 via Western Union.
  2. To receive a transfer in your e-wallet, you must have a fully registered profile. Submit your ID info and other mandatory details to your e-wallet provider as per Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas regulations and get it verified. Check your e-wallet provider's website to learn how to register your profile.
  3. Once you receive a transfer in your e-wallet, you will get a text message on your registered mobile number to confirm that funds have been deposited into your e-wallet, or to alert you about issues, if any.
  4. Remember to ask your sender for the tracking number (MTCN) and the estimated amount sent.

Flexibility to change

Even though situations can change, it’s important that everyone still receives their money. That’s why Western Union® makes it possible to change the way you receive your money. Just follow the steps below.

Cash to Bank Account1

  1. Select ‘Update delivery method’ menu on WU.com and enter your tracking number (MTCN).
  2. Fill in your information and bank account details2.
  3. Share the link with your sender to complete the transfer. Your sender must confirm the change in the delivery method.

2Please make sure that the receiver’s name accurately matches with the name provided on the transaction and with the details of the bank account owner. (Account details may vary by country.)

1 Funds will generally reach a recipient's bank account in minutes, but funds sent to first-time BPI receivers in the Philippines may take up to 2 hours, and funds sent to Landbank between 10 pm and 1 am local Philippines time may be delayed. Funds may be delayed or services unavailable based on certain transaction conditions, including amount sent, destination country, currency availability, regulatory and foreign exchange issues, required receiver action(s), identification requirements, Agent location hours, differences in time zones, or selection of delayed options. 2 Please use care when providing bank account information. Funds will be paid into in the bank account corresponding to the account number you provide. The receiver’s account must be a local currency payout account.
