What is the Refer a Friend program?

Refer up to 15 friends to Western Union and get a 20 CAD Amazon e-gift code* for every friend you refer. Plus, each friend you refer will get a 20 CAD Amazon.ca e-gift code*.

How does the Refer a Friend program work?

Earn rewards in three easy steps:

  • Share the referral link with your friend (“Referee”) through social media or email.
  • The referee should register with Western Union (Canada site or mobile app) and accept the Terms and Conditions .
  • The referee must complete an online international or domestic transfer of 100CAD or more using any online payment excludes the Cash in store payment method, within 30 days of their registration, during the promotion period.

After completing all the steps above, you’ll both receive a 20 CAD Amazon.ca e-gift code*.

How many friends can I send the referral link to?

You can send the referral link to as many friends as you want – who are 18 years of age or older, but you can only earn rewards up to 300 CAD for the first 15 friends that complete all the requirements.

When and how will I receive my Amazon.ca e-gift code?

After your referee completes their first transfer of 100 CAD or more using your referral link, you’ll receive the Amazon.ca e-gift code via email within 7 business days.

Does my Amazon.ca e-gift code expire?

The redemption of the reward is governed by Amazon’s terms and conditions. See www.Amazon.ca/gc-legal for more information.

How can I redeem my Amazon.ca e-gift code?

You can use your Amazon.ca e-gift code to purchase your favourite products at Amazon.ca. Restrictions apply, see www.Amazon.ca/gc-legal for more information.

How can I share the referral link with my friends?

You can share the referral link with your friends via email or social media.

Can I redeem my rewards for cash?

You cannot redeem your rewards for cash or transfer it to someone else. It also cannot be bartered or sold.

Why did I not get my referral reward?

Try these steps:

  • Confirm that your friend has used your referral link to register with Western Union.
  • Your referee has completed an online international or domestic transfer of 100CAD or more using any online payment excludes the Cash in store payment method, within 30 days of their registration, during the promotion period.
  • It’s been at least 7 business days since all the above requirements were completed.
  • Make sure to check the junk/spam folder in your email inbox to confirm you haven’t received the e-gift code.
