Online identification process

Where are you sending your money from?

Your online ID verification

We’d like to verify your identity to get to know you and your needs. This will allow us to serve you better.

The ID verification is required when you send more than 999,99 EUR per transfer. Once your profile is verified, you’ll be able to send up to 5 000 EUR per transfer.

Let’s get started online!

Log in your Western Union account

You can easily access your account from either or the Western Union app.

Access your profile page and click on the link “start verification”

Confirm your personal details

Save time by making sure your name indicated in the profile matches your ID document and that profile displays your current residence address.

Last step: complete your verification

Once you’ve received the email from us, send us the following documents at (as PDFs or JPGs):

  • Accepted documents:
    • Passport
    • EU/EEA identity card
    • French residence permit
    • France Travel document for foreigners

  • Your copy must include the front and the back of your ID document
  • Your photo ID document must be valid and complete
  • Information must match your Western Union profile
  • Signature on ID document or signature page must be visible (if applicable)


  • Accepted documents: [with paper/ online]
    • Electricity bill
    • Gas bill
    • Phone bill
    • Bank or credit card statement

  • The proof of address must contain:
    • The date (less than 90 days old)
    • Your full name (first, middle and last names) as they appear on your ID and your Western Union profile
    • Your home address as indicated in your Western Union online profile
    • The issuing company’s name and logo

The process may take a few hours. After your identity is verified, you will receive a confirmation email.
