What is Vigo Money?
Vigo Money is an app powered by Western Union that provides a convenient and secure way to receive, exchange and store funds, and transfer money to friends and family around the world.
Does Vigo Money replace my Western Union account?
If you already have a Western Union account, you can use your credentials to log into Vigo Money. It does not replace your
existing account.
What do I need to sign up for Vigo Money?
Download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play store and sign up. You’ll need to enter the following details as they
appear in your government-issued ID:
- First and last name
- Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
- Date of birth
- Your address
You may also need to verify your identity with one of the following:
- Passport
- Driver’s license
- National ID
- Instituto Federal Electoral (Mexico)
- Matricula Consular (Mexico)
How do I add money to my Vigo Money account?
You have options. Load funds into your account using your US bank account, a debit or credit card, or redirect a money transfer.
How many cards can I have linked to my Vigo Money account?
At any time you can have one debit card, one credit card, and one linked bank account stored in your wallet to fund your account.
What is the Western Union Visa® card?
Vigo Money includes a linked prepaid debit card account with a Western Union® Visa card, issued by Pathward®, N.A. When you use the card to shop or withdraw money from an ATM, funds are automatically transferred from your wallet to your card account, so you re always ready to pay.
What is the difference between a virtual card and a physical card?
Virtual card: You can use it immediately for online purchases. You can also manually add it to your Apple Pay or Google Pay for easy access on your phone.
Physical card: It s a plastic card shipped to your address. That you can use to pay in person, or to withdraw money from an ATM.
