In solidarity with the people of Oaxaca, Mexico, impacted by last week’s earthquake, Western Union is waiving transfer fees* for certain retail money transfers from the U.S. to the state of Oaxaca.

From July 1-9, 2020 customers will receive a $0 fee* transfer when sending up to $250 from the U.S. to Oaxaca at any of Western Union’s U.S. retail agent locations. Customers wishing to access this promotion should mention “Oaxaca Disaster Relief Pricing” at any Western Union agent location in the U.S.

On June 24, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the southern state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The earthquake killed at least seven people, injured dozens more and caused structural damage to buildings and hospitals. Western Union stands with the people of Oaxaca as they recover from a major earthquake, made more difficult due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
