If you are looking for a job, there are plenty of things you should do. Writing a cover letter and researching the company is a start, but you have to make sure that it’s a great fit for you, as well.

- Follow Your Passion
What do you like to do? You should know what your interests are before applying for a job. If you like writing, applying for a job as a blogger or copywriter is something that you should explore. If you are an active person, working at a desk job might be difficult for you. Finding out your passions and following them is the first thing you need to do when searching for a job you love!
- Make a Pros and Cons List
Before deciding on a position or company, make a list of pros and cons. On the left side of the paper is your pros list, where you write down every thing you like about the job, position or company. On the right side of the paper is your cons list, where you write down what you don’t like. If you find that your pros list is longer than your cons list, the job might be a good fit for you!
- Ask Questions
If you’re unsure about what you will be doing within the company, or what your daily tasks will be, ask your potential employer! The more you know about the job, the more you’ll be able to realize if it’s a good fit. For example, if the job is sales, ask what product or service you’ll be selling and what the hours will be. When you just assume, you might accept the position and find out that it is not in your best interests, so try to learn as much as you can.
- Give it a try!
Lastly, you might not know what you want to do at first until you give it a try. Don’t be afraid to put your best foot forward and give something a try, you might find out that you love it. If not, at least you gave it an attempt and realize what career is a wrong fit in the future.
