5 places to visit during a trip to the United Kingdom

Despite its small size, every corner of the UK has its own charm. Here are the places you can’t miss!

1 – Salisbury, England

Located in the southwest of England, Salisbury is a small town full of nostalgic medieval streets. With great restaurants, the town is chosen by those who want to visit one of the world’s historical sites, Stonehenge.

The site is only 20 minutes by car from the city and remains a great mystery to humanity: no one can say how or why the stone parallelepipeds ended up there. But this is certainly a must stop on your trip to the United Kingdom!

2 – London, England

The capital of England needs no introduction. London is one of the best-known cities in the world, and one of the most historic. There you can visit iconic places such as the famous Big Ben clock, Tower Bridge, and the famous Windsor Castle. This is just to mention the most classic ones!

For the more modern visitors, the London Eye, the world’s largest Ferris wheel, offers breathtaking views of the entire city. Don’t forget to visit Westminster Cathedral, where all the kings and queens of England are crowned.

3 – Belfast, Northern Ireland

Leaving England, your trip to the United Kingdom must include a visit to Belfast, in Northern Ireland. Belfast is a vibrant and jovial city, and it is no wonder that the city is known for its street art. You can get to know a bit of the city’s history through the walls and panels scattered around the streets.

It was in Belfast, for example, that the Titanic ship was built, and the city houses a museum in honor of its history. In addition, Belfast has a lively nightlife, with several Irish-style pubs for a good pint of beer.

4 – Edinburgh, Scotland

Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh, is famous for being home to the castle that bears the same name. And while Edinburgh Castle should certainly be on your to-do list, there is much more to see around the city. You can check, for instance, the famous Coronation Stone, used in the coronation of Scottish kings.

You can also visit the Old Town’s Royal Mile, the heart of Edinburgh. The place is filled with boutiques, cafes, and galleries for art lovers. For history buffs, the Scottish National War Memorial is an imposing monument to the Scottish soldiers who died in the Napoleonic Wars.

5 – Cardiff, Wales

Wales could not be left out of this list. Cardiff, the capital, is one of the most interesting places you will visit on your trip to the United Kingdom. Here, you can venture into some of the most scenic national parks in the world or visit historic castles, such as Cardiff Castle, built in the 9th century.

Being on the coast, Cardiff also boasts a breathtaking coastline, where you can visit the World of Boats, a museum that brings together boats from all over the world, and Techniquest, a science center that makes learning much more fun.
