What do I do if my ID has expired?

If your ID has expired, you will have to verify your identity again in one of the following ways:

  • Online – upload your selfie, a photo of your renewed Bahrain national ID and enter the new expiration date of your ID.
  • Assisted – request an agent’s visit at your doorstep.
  • In person – visit the nearest NEC agent location.

After your identity is verified, you can start sending money with us immediately.

Who can register and send money online?

Anyone who meets the following requirements can register for Western Union International money transfer service.

  • Have a Bahrain national ID (Smart card/CPR)
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Accept the Terms and conditions for using Western Union services
  • Have a Bahrain-issued debit card
  • Have a valid mobile number

Registration on westernunion.com is quick and easy. You just need to follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Bahrain Western Union website.
  2. Enter your mobile number.
  3. Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile number.
  4. Fill out the remaining details.
  5. Agree to the Terms and Conditions of service and privacy statements.

Now you are ready to log into your profile.

No, it’s free of charge.

What do I do if I forgot my user ID or log in password or repeatedly entered incorrect details?

If you registered with us using your email address, your user ID is your email address. If you registered with your mobile number, your user ID is your mobile number.

If you forgot your password:

  1. Select Forgot password from the login page.
  2. Enter your Bahrain national ID number or registered mobile number.
  3. Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile number or email address, depending on your user ID.
  4. Enter your new password.

If you enter your login more than three times unsuccessfully, your profile will be locked for your protection. You can try to log in after 30 minutes or contact Western Union Customer Care at 80038003.
