- Follow the steps to create an online profile in just a few minutes.
- Verify your identity in person at any Equity Bank Rwanda PLC location after creating your profile online.
2. Start your transfer
- Enter the destination country and the amount you’d like to send.
- Choose the payout method: cash or direct to bank based on your receiver’s country.
3. Enter your receiver’s details
- If you’re sending directly to a bank account, you will need your receiver’s bank name, code, and account number1.
- You can save your receiver’s details to save time for your future transfers.
4. Pay and send
- Pay by bank transfer.
- Double check all the details before hitting send.
- You’ll get a confirmation email with the tracking number (MTCN). Use it to track your transfer and share it with your receiver only.
Walk in to send money
1. Visit a Western Union agent location
- Find one nearby in our online agent locator.
2. Share your details
- Provide the agent with your full name and a valid ID from the following: a Passport, National identification card, Rwanda Refugee card, Foreigner ID or Rwandan Driver Licence.
3. Share your receiver’s details3
- Provide the agent with your receiver’s first name and last name, the destination country and the exact amount you wish to send.
- Choose the payout method: cash or direct to bank account, based on your receiver’s country.
4. Pay and send
- Pay for your transfer in cash.
- You’ll get a confirmation email with the tracking number (MTCN). Use it to
track your transfer and share it with your receiver only.

1 Please use care when providing bank account information. Funds will be paid into the bank account corresponding to the account number you provide. The receiver's account must be a local currency payout account.

3 Please provide your receiver’s name as it appears on the ID they will be presenting to pick up the money.
