I have questions

What documents can I use to pick up money in Samoa?

You’ll need to present any official government-issued ID, such as:

For Residents (primary ID):

  • Passport
  • Driver’s license
  • National identification card
  • Emergency passport
  • Military, police and correctional facility card*
  • Voter card
  • Student ID*
  • Pension card
  • Ministry authority card*
  • Samoa National Provident Card

  • For Residents (secondary ID):

  • Birth Certificate

  • Acceptable IDs are subject to the banking laws and regulations of Samoa.

    * For these ID types, Samoa requires a 2nd ID in addition to the primary ID, since these instruments do not mention the DOB (date of birth).

    For Non-Residents:

  • Passport by foreign government or a recognised international organisation
  • How much does it cost to receive money?

The receiver pays no agent fees to receive money. All agent fees are paid by the sender.

What is a money transfer control number (MTCN)?

It's a unique number assigned to your transfer.
You will need this number when you go to pick up your money and also to track your transfer.
