Western Union brings its reliability, reach to US Walmart locations

Western Union and Walmart are proud to announce that as of May 14th, Walmart shoppers at any location across the US can send and receive Western Union domestic and international money transfers.

Walmart customers can now access Western Union’s multiple channels

Customers will enjoy a smooth experience when sending transfers to family and friends through Western Union’s global financial network of bank accounts, wallets, and retail locations.

Western Union has one of the world’s widest reaching networks accessing billions of bank accounts, millions of digital wallets, and cards, and over half a million retail locations in 200 countries and territories in minutes[i].

Customers have a great choice when choosing a channel to send money to family and friends. Money sent from a Walmart location may be collected in cash in more than 200 countries and territories, deposited directly to a bank account, sent straight to a mobile wallet[ii] or a debit card, or paid out at an ATM in 125 countries.

Nine out of 10 US residents live within 10 miles of Walmart

Nine in 10 US residents live within 10 miles of a Walmart, the country’s largest retailer with more than 4,600 locations. Walmart customers can now combine their shopping trip with a Money Center or Customer Service visit to conveniently access Western Union’s services.
