Four types of cookies may be used during your visits to Western Union's websites

  • Western Union transactional cookies – cookies processed during your website visit and used for essential features like account sign in & management, transaction tracking, processing & completion, fraud prevention and website stability. Performance and feature enhancement cookies required for testing and deploying new products. Accepting these cookies is a condition of use of the website.

The Omniture SiteCatalyst cookie is used to record ‘click through’ information that is necessary to complete our contractual obligations with our partners, the use of this cookie by Western Union is limited to this purpose and is not used for any additional purposes. This is a transactional cookie and your choice to opt-out will not be applied.

  • Western Union functional cookies – cookies used to provide services or to remember settings to improve your visit. For example; remembering the country and language you have selected when you visit Western Union's web pages and are not used for marketing purposes. Accepting these cookies is a condition of use of the website.
  • Western Union performance cookies - cookies that collect information about your website use, for example; the pages you visit, if you experience any errors, and to assist Western Union with troubleshooting problems on the site. These cookies do not collect any personal information – all information is anonymous and is only used to help us improve your website experience, understand what your interests are and measure marketing effectiveness.
  • Western Union marketing cookies - cookies linked to services provided by both Western Union and third parties, such as survey and marketing requests or ‘Like' buttons and ‘Share' buttons from 3rd parties. For example linking to social network sites like Facebook, who may subsequently use information about your visit.

Omniture We use Omniture's software to carry out statistical analysis of page use, page interactions and paths through Western Union, known as 'web analytics'. We may record certain information that customers provide during an on-site transaction. This information allows us to identify customers and more accurately understand their individual behaviors and needs. 
DoubleClick Our online advertising supplier, used for the purpose of serving our Internet advertisements on other sites. Some of our web pages may contain electronic images known as web beacons (sometimes known as clear gifs) that allow us to track user interactions on these pages or send back information to DoubleClick about your interaction on the website.
InfoNow Tracking for marketing purposes to determine the success of advertising
TeaLeaf Used for the purpose of troubleshooting potential website issues. This provides a method to review a user's website experience and identify and resolve issues.
