Electronic Records Policy

This Electronic Records Policy describes how Western Union Financial Services, Inc. ("Western Union" or "We") may provide information to you electronically. Before using electronic and related services provided by Western Union ("Services"), you must review and consent to these terms. If you choose not to consent to this Policy or you withdraw your Consent, you cannot use our Services. Your Consent to this Policy may also apply to our affiliates' products or services at our affiliates' sole discretion. By using our Services you hereby consent to this Policy and affirm that you have access to the hardware and software requirements identified below.

Covered Communications

By accepting this Policy, you consent to receive electronically communications that we provide you regarding the Services ("Communications"). Communications may include, but are not limited to (i) agreements and policies (e.g., terms and conditions, privacy policy and notices) and changes thereto; (ii) pre-payment disclosures, transaction receipts and confirmations; and (iii) customer service communications (such as communications with respect to claims of error).

Methods of Providing Communications

We may provide electronic Communications to you by email and/or posting or making them accessible on the Western Union website, mobile application, or mobile website (including via "hyperlinks" provided online and in e-mails). Communications will be provided online and viewable using browser software and/ or, in some cases, as PDF files. For transactions conducted at Western Union kiosks, we may provide electronic Communications to you at such kiosks. In such cases, you will be able to print the Communication and/or have it e-mailed to you.

Hardware and Software Requirements

To access and retain electronic Communications, you must have:

  • A valid and working email address. We may request that you respond to an email to demonstrate you are able to receive emailed Communications.

  • A computer, mobile, tablet or similar device with internet access and current browser software (such as Microsoft® Internet Explorer®, Apple® Safari®, Mozilla® Firefox®, or Google Chrome®).

  • Software that allows you to view and print or save e-mails and PDF files (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader). We may request that you respond to an email containing a PDF file to demonstrate you are able to receive PDF Communications.

  • Sufficient storage space to save Communications (whether presented online, in e-mails or PDF) or an installed and functional printer to print them.

  • Access to a Western Union kiosk when transactions are conducted at such kiosk.

We will notify you if there are any material changes to the hardware or software needed to receive electronic Communications from us. By giving your consent you confirm you have access to the hardware and software above and are able to receive, view, and print or save Communications.

How to Withdraw Your Consent

You may withdraw your consent to receive Communications electronically by writing to us at ["Attn: Electronic Communications Delivery Policy, PO Box 6036, Englewood, CO USA 80112"], or by contacting us via the "Contact Us" link at the Western Union website. Your withdrawal of consent will cancel your agreement to receive electronic Communications, and therefore, your ability to use our Services.

Requesting Paper Copies of Electronic Communications

Consistent with Western Union policies and applicable law, you may obtain a paper copy of any legally-required electronic Communications. In such case, we will send a paper copy to you by U.S. mail. For us to send a paper copy, you must have a current mailing address on file with Western Union. If you request paper copies, Western Union may charge you a fee when permitted by applicable law.

Updating Your Contact Information

It is your responsibility to keep your primary email address up to date so that Western Union can communicate with you electronically.

You understand and agree that if Western Union sends you an electronic Communication but you do not receive it because your primary email address on file is incorrect, out of date, blocked by your service provider, or you are otherwise unable to receive electronic Communications, Western Union will be deemed to have provided the Communication to you.

If you use a spam filter or similar software that blocks or re-routes emails from senders not listed in your email address book, you must add Western Union to your email address book so that you can receive Communications by e-mail.

You can update your primary email address or other information by writing to us at "Attn: Electronic Records Policy, PO Box 6036, Englewood, CO USA 80112", or updating your Western Union account information at westernunion.com. If your email address becomes invalid such that e-mails to you are returned, Western Union may deem your account inactive, and you will not be able to transact any activity using your Western Union account until we receive a valid, working primary email address from you.

Termination / Changes

We may discontinue providing you electronic Communications in our sole discretion. We may change the terms of this policy provided we notify you and allow you to withdraw your acceptance of this policy as required by law.
