Yes, before making your first online transfer you will need to verify your profile. To complete this step, please follow instructions below:
Take a photo of both sides of your valid* Civil ID, resident ID, or passport, which you used to register on the Western Union mobile app or westernunion.com.
Take a clear selfie, holding the ID you used in step 1.
After a successful verification, you will receive a confirmation by email. Once you get the confirmation email, you can start using Western Union online money transfer services immediately.
You may also visit the nearest Global Money Exchange location in Oman and verify your identity in person. Don’t forget to bring your valid ID with you.
*Due to the current situation, customers whose ID expired after 23rd of Feb 2020 can still register and use Western Union money transfer services on westernunion.com and our mobile app until further notice to provide a new one.
After you present your Passport (for non-Omani residents), Civil ID and Resident Permit (for Omani residents) at the nearest Global Money Exchange location in Oman, you will receive a confirmation by email. Individuals must present their valid Passport (for non-Omani residents), Civil ID and Resident Permit (for Omani residents) at the nearest Global Money Exchange location in Oman. The acceptable identification documents are subject to the Central Bank of Oman rules and regulations
