How to Provide Your Identification

If you want to send more than 1.000 EUR within a 12-month period, we will need to verify your identity.

Here is how it works:
 

1.) Choose “Start verification” in your profile overview or “I want to send money regularly” on the review page of your money transfer. 

2.) Follow the instructions on the screen or in the email we will send you.

3.) Email one personal ID document: Passport, EU/EEA identity card, or French residence permit together with one utility bill or bank statement from the past 3 months, to us at id@westernunion.com

4.) Please include the email address you used to register and a phone number in case we need to reach you.


We will review the documents and contact you with any questions. You should hear from us within 2 business days.

You will not be able to send money online until your identity has been verified. In the meantime, you can send money by visiting a nearby agent location.
