Opportunity Beyond Borders
Learn more about our three-year commitment to provide vulnerable youth with the skills and education needed to succeed in today’s global digital economy. To provide an opportunity for grassroots nonprofits working to deliver impact in this mission space, we will have an open grantmaking challenge in 2020. See if you are eligible here.
We believe that while talent is universal, opportunity is not. We believe that it is time to invest in new approaches to skilling conflict-affected youth for the future of work and enable them to access high-value careers in the technology sector. In doing so, we hope to transform the tech industry into a hub for innovation which reflects and harnesses the potential of the world’s most diverse community and create opportunities for upward economic mobility, especially for refugees and marginalized youth.

Education for Better
In 2015, we set a goal to provide 50,000 women, youth, migrants, and refugees with workforce training and education, enabling access to the global economy. Thanks to the generosity of Western Union and its partners, the WU Foundation has exceeded its goal, providing more than 75,000 people with potentially life-changing education.
