Moldova Consumers Can Now Send Global Money Transfers 24/7
CHISINAU, SEPTEMBER 03, 2019— Western Union, a leader in cross border, cross currency money movement, in collaboration with Victoriabank, one of the top commercial banks in Moldova, have launched www.westernunion.com/md, pioneering 24/7 online customer money transfers around the world.
Customers in Moldova can now choose to send money conveniently online via www.westernunion.com/md with a national debit or credit card. They also have the choice of commencing their transaction online and completing at any of Western Union® agent locations. Funds can be received at hundreds of thousands of Western Union® agent locations in more than 200 countries and territories.

CUSTOMER GUIDANCE:
In accordance with the local regulations, prior to the first use of the online service, customers are required to register on www.westernunion.com/md, then verify by using a Moldovian mobile number and a valid government issued national ID or Passport. In person verification at a Victoriabank location is required if the transaction exceeds the 20,000 MDL limit.
After successful verification, customers will receive a notification confirming they can now conveniently send Western Union® money transfers anytime, with a few clicks, online.
In addition to the convenience and reliability of sending money any time, the website displays current exchange rates and fees, tracks money transfers online, lists past and pending transactions and lists payout options available in the receiver’s country.
Upon successful registration, customers can proceed to initiate the transaction and insert the recipient’s information.
Once the transaction is complete, the sender receives an SMS confirmation containing the tracking number (MTCN). This can be used to track the money transfer and should be sent only to the recipient. For convenience, the customer can save the receiver details as a template for future transfers.
