One Young World gathers some of the world’s brightest young leaders to discuss and share innovative solutions on pressing global issues.
In October 2018, Western Union and the Western Union Foundation sent 30 delegates and scholars to the One Young World Summit in The Hague, Netherlands. These delegates came back from the summit inspired and empowered to make changes in their communities through projects focused on assisting refugees and migrant workers, promoting environmental sustainability, and facilitating social change.
Caroline Tsai, Western Union Executive Vice President and General Counsel, says these delegates are
“in a league of their own”.
Highlights include Western Union CEO, Hikmet Ersek, speaking on the importance of building global connections, and ensuring Western Union is aligned to that mission. Also, Barbara Gonzalez, a returning One Young World ambassador from Western Union, spoke about her personal experience in her home country of Costa Rica, and how One Young World has changed her life.
