This is how you do it in 6 easy steps:

  1. Download and/or start the transfer on the Western Union app
  2. Log-in and select ‘send money’
  3. Enter money transfer details and choose ‘send to Bank account’ when asked how you want your receiver to get money?
  4. Choose how you want to pay.
  5. Add receiver’s identification and bank details. Union Pay debit card account starts with 62

  6. You can either:

    a. If your receiver has not received money in their bank account from Western Union in the past, they will need to call Western Union China’s hotline number for ID verification. This needs to be completed before money is sent to their account.

          Call +86 21 6866 4622

    b. Wait for Western Union Customer Service Centre to contact the receiver. This will be within 24 hours after the transaction has been made.

    Subsequent, money transfers sent to the same receiver and the same bank account will be available in minutes1.

  7. Complete payment to receive Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). Track the transfer from your phone.
