Sending money

 

1. What are Western Union® agent locations?

Agent locations are the places to send or receive money in person. They may be supermarkets, grocery stores, drug stores, travel agencies, and other retailers. In some countries, they may also be banks, travel agencies, post offices, airports, train stations, bus stations, or currency exchange offices.

 

2. How do I find a Western Union agent location?

You can easily find a nearby agent location by using our online agent locator tool.

 

3. How do I send money from an agent location?

You will find it fast and easy to send money from one of our agent locations.

  • Visit a Western Union® agent location.
  • Share with the agent your receiver´s full name, address, ID number, destination country and the amount you wish to send.
  • Give the agent your original Government-issued ID and it’s photocopy along with the tax identification number (CUIL/CUIT/CDI) if you’re an Argentinian citizen.
  • Give the agent the complete amount you want to send plus the service fee.

4. How much money can I send from an agent location?

At any of our Western Union stores or participating agent locations, you will be able to send up to 114,000 ARS per transfer, per person; up to 115,000 ARS per person, per month; and up to 120,000 ARS per person in a year.

If you use Correo Argentino, then the limit per transfer is up to 15,000 ARS.

5. Can I send money at any time, any day?

You will be able to send money depending on the business hours and working days of the agent location you have selected.

6. How can I find out if the money has been paid?

To know if your money transfer has been paid, just select Track transfer on top of any page then enter your receiver's name and the money transfer control number (MTCN).

 

7. Does Western Union offer an escrow service or any kind of buyer protection for online auctions or other transfers?

No. Western Union does not offer escrow or buyer protection. To help protect yourself from fraud, never send money to someone you don’t know. If you suspect you may have been the victim of fraud using Western Union, contact us immediately.

Receiving money

 

8. How do I pick up a money transfer?

  • Visit an agent location.
  • Provide the agent with the correct money transfer control number (MTCN), your sender's full name, the country where the money was sent from and expected amount.
  • Give the agent the original Government-issued ID and it’s photocopy, along with the tax identification number (CUIL/CUIT/CDI) if you’re an Argentinian citizen
  • Review and sign the receipt.
  • The agent will give you the money and a copy of the receipt.

9. How can I find out if a money transfer is ready for pick up?

To know if your money transfer has been paid, just select Track transfer on top of any page then enter your receiver's name and the money transfer control number (MTCN).

 

10. How does Western Union pay out money transfers?

You can receive your money transfer in cash at an agent location, or you can ask your sender to transfer the money directly to your bank account in Argentina. The sender should enter your bank account details at the moment of sending the money.
