ANTIGUA & BARBUDA – OFFICIAL RULES

 

DURATION OF PROMOTION: The Promotion runs from January 16th to March 11th, 2017 (“Promotional Period”).

SPONSORS: This “Champs” (“Promotion”) is sponsored by Grace Kennedy Remittance Services (“Sponsor”), Authorized Agent of Western Union, located at Grace Kennedy Remittance Services 2 - 5 Trafford Place, Kingston 5, Jamaica.

OVERVIEW: Send one (1) Western Union® outbound transaction to Jamaica during the Promotional Period from any participating Western Union Agent location in Antigua & Barbuda (the “Qualifying Transaction”) and automatically be entered for a chance to win the Champs Sweepstakes.  

HOW TO QUALIFY FOR OFFER: All Qualifying Transactions within the Promotional Period will be awarded an entry for the Grand Prize draw below.  

Grand Prize Description: One (1) Grand Prize: A 3 Day/2 Night Trip to Kingston, Jamaica for Grand Prize Winner and one (1) guest to attend the 2017 Inter-Secondary Schools Boys and Girls Championships on April 1, 2017.  Prize includes [1] Round trip air economy class transportation for Winner and Guest to/from the major airport closest to Winner’s home and Kingston, Jamaica; [2] Hotel accommodations in one (1) standard double occupancy room for two (2) nights; [3] total meal allowance of US$250 to be used at the hotel [4] Two (2) tickets to the 2017 Inter-Secondary Schools Boys and Girls Championships on April 1, 2017; and [5] Ground transportation to/from the airport in Jamaica and the hotel, and to/from the hotel and event on April 1, 2017 for Grand Prize Winner and Guest.  Grand Prize is exclusive of transfers, government taxes and fees, service charges, additional meals, gratuities and other personal expenditures. No substitutions, cash equivalents, or transfers of prizes permitted except at the discretion of the Sponsor.  Actual value of prize will vary depending upon Grand Prize Winner’s point of departure and date of travel.

PRIZE DRAWS & WINNER SELECTION: One (1) Winner will be selected from all Qualifying Transactions in a random drawing to be held in Jamaica at 2 - 6 Trafford Place Kingston 5.

WINNER SELECTION

  • • Prize winners will be selected at random from the Western Union database
  • • Trip must be taken on the date specified by the Sponsor after the Grand Prize Winner is confirmed.
    If the Grand Prize Winner is unable to travel on the specified date they may be disqualified and an alternate will be chosen from among all eligible remaining Qualifying Transactions, time permitting.
  • • Grand Prize Winner and Guest must travel together on the same itinerary.  Air transportation to be provided by airline/airport servicing Kingston, Jamaica which is the closest to Grand Prize Winner’s home, and at Sponsor’s sole discretion. 
  • • Grand Prize Winner and Guest are responsible for obtaining all travel documents (photo identification, passport, visa or other required documents) including but not limited to any travel insurance (and all other forms of insurance) that they may wish to obtain at their own expense) and hereby acknowledge that the Sponsor has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance.
  • • Winner’s Guest must be of legal age of majority in his/her country of residence (and at least 18 years of age) unless child or legal ward of Grand Prize Winner.
  • • Sponsor will make 3 attempts to contact the winner by telephone within one week after the draw.  In the event that we are unable to contact the winner, Sponsor reserves the right to randomly select another winner from pool of Qualifying Transactions.  Failure to claim their prize within two weeks after notification will result in the prize being forfeited and a new selection made. 
  • • When potential winner accepts the prize, he/she will receive written confirmation with instructions to claim the prize from Sponsor. 
  • • Prizes are not redeemable for cash and are nontransferable, cannot be bartered or sold.
  • • Sponsor will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by the winner.


PARTICIPATING AGENT LOCATIONS: All GKRS Antigua & Barbuda locations in Antigua & Barbuda (currently in operation) will participate in the promotion.

ODDS OF WINNING: Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received during the Promotional Period. The Prize Winner shall be responsible for any and all related taxes, costs, etc. in connection with the Prize. Any expenses not specifically identified as part of the Prize are the responsibility of the Winner.  Winner will be announced after the scheduled drawings.  All drawings shall be conducted by the Sponsor in the presence of an auditor. All decisions are final. 

GENERAL RULES:  Open only to individuals residing in Antigua & Barbuda who are 18 years of age or older.  Employees of Sponsor, Western Union, and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible.  If requested by Sponsor, Winner and Guest will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability provided by Sponsor and if legally permissible, Publicity Release within 15 days of notification.  Noncompliance within this time period may result in disqualification and an alternate Winner may be selected.  Return of any Prize or Prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate will be selected. Acceptance of a Prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use Winner and Guest names and/or likenesses for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.  Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Promotion or use or redemption of any Prize.  By participating in this Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules.  Any claim or dispute arising under these rules is subject to the laws of Antigua & Barbuda. Sponsor is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any sweepstakes related materials or for transactions that are processed late or incorrectly or that are lost due to computer, telecommunications or electronic malfunction.
