WILMINGTON, Del. - July 17, 2007 - MODASolutions, the provider of the eBillme™ payment solution that extends online banking to checkout, today announced that they will once again team up with the J.C. Williams Group, a global retail consulting firm, to host an industry Webinar on Tuesday, July 31 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST. The Webinar, which is open to all merchants, financial institutions, and members of the media, will discuss the results of their recent eCommerce consumer survey which investigated the relationship between online bill payers and online shoppers.
A key finding from the survey results revealed that online banking users who use their banking portals to pay their bills spend 117 percent more shopping online, making them a very lucrative customer for retailers. The Webinar, presented by Jim Okamura, Senior Partner for J.C. Williams Group, and Ann Jonsrud, Senior Vice President of Sales for MODASolutions, will further examine this relationship and provide insight on how merchants can attract these consumers to the online checkout.
“Our survey uncovered a trust among consumers when it comes to online banking,” says Jim Okamura, Senior Partner of J.C. Williams Group. “We found 80 percent of participants indicated that a safe and secure payment option is most important to them while shopping online. They regularly bank and pay bills online, and trust the secure banking infrastructure that financial institutions have built. When you take this established trust and familiarity and bring it to online checkout, the results are an increase in profit and customers for retailers. Our hope is that this Webinar will shed light on this connection and help merchants understand the benefits of offering online banking payment alternatives.”
Webinar topics will include:
- 3 things you need to know about online banking users and online shoppers
- Online bill payer user profile: who are they, spending habits, and shopping preferences
- Opportunities for bringing online bill payers to online checkouts
“We are pleased to extend this opportunity to merchants, to examine the connection between online bill payers and their value to the retailers’ business,” says Marwan Forzley, President and CEO of MODASolutions. “The survey findings will help retailers uncover a very profitable consumer group and show the benefits of eBillme as an alternative payment method.”
