General questions

   WU®Pay - what is WU Pay?

WU Pay is an online payment option, which allows you to shop online, or send a money transfer online at WesternUnion.com - and pay cash using online banking bill pay.

Just select WU Pay as your payment option at a participating online retailer, the WU Pay Gift Card Mall, or when you send a money transfer at WesternUnion.com.

We will email you a bill. Pay the bill anywhere you pay bills online, including over 17,000 online banks in the US, using online bill pay.

With WU Pay you can shop online without a credit card, no financial information is required. 

   How does WU® Pay work?

WU Pay allows you to shop online, or send a money transfer online at WesternUnion.com - and pay with online banking bill pay.

At the retailers checkout page, or on WesternUnion.com - simply select WU Pay as your payment option.

A copy of your bill will be displayed on the screen and will be automatically emailed to you. Check your email inbox and spam/junk folders for the ebill, which provides complete payment instructions:  To pay the bill:

1. Log in to your bank’s website and go to the bill pay section. Follow the instructions found on your bill to add WU Pay as a payee and then pay for your order - the same way you pay your other bills through online banking.

2. For online shopping orders: you can also pay your bill at a Western Union® agent location in the US. (see Western Union agent location FAQ for fees)

Questions about paying with WU Pay

   How/where do I pay my WU Pay bill?

An electronic invoice (bill) along with your account number and payment instructions, will appear at the time of your purchase and a copy is sent to your email account. You have 2 ways to pay your bill:

1. Log in to your bank or credit union’s online banking portal. Go to the bill pay section and add WU Pay as a payee using the information from your bill. (this step is only required the first time you use WU Pay)  Pay the amount listed on your bill.


2. For online shopping orders: you can also pay your bill at a Western Union® agent location in the US. (Western Union fee applies).
>Find a Western Union® walk-in Agent location in the US.
> Print a copy of the WU Pay bill and bring it to the Western Union agent location.
> Fill out the blue Quick Collect® Western Union form. Complete the form and include:
(a)  the amount owing on your bill
(b) WU Pay as the biller name
(c)  your WU Pay Account Number, which is EB plus 7 digits, example,  EB1234567
(d) for your City Code: WU Pay OH
> Give the agent the form and cash (amount to be sent, plus Quick Collect fee). The agent will process the payment and give you a receipt.

WU Pay will send you an email payment confirmation when we receive your payment; and WU Pay will notify the merchant to process your order.

   My bank is not listed. Can I still use WU Pay?

You can use WU Pay at any financial institution that offers online bill payment as a payment method. The bank list on our website is a sample list of banks, credit unions, and bill pay portals.

If your bank is not listed, just check your bank’s website to see if they offer online bill pay – if they do, you can pay with WU Pay at this bank.
Just email us at , and we will add your bank to our bank list.

   How do I add WU Pay as a payee at my bank?

Adding WUPay as a payee is easy.
- Login to your online banking and go to the bill pay section.
- Use the search tool to find “WU Pay”. Then click the “add” button to add your account information (from your bill).

Most online banks offer a search, but if for some reason a search option is not available or if you aren’t able to find WU Pay using your bank’s search tool, then you can add us as a payee manually with the information in your bill (as shown below).
- Note: Be sure to enter ‘WU Pay’ as the payee - not Western Union,.

   Will I go directly to online banking?

No. For security reasons you won’t be redirected to your online banking account.

Your bill is similar to any other bill that you would pay online. Simply log in to your bank’s bill pay service and complete your payment.

   Can I pay by credit card?

No - WU® Pay does not accept credit cards. WU Pay allows you to shop online or send a Money Transfer online and pay with cash, using your bank’s online bill pay system.

   When will my order (from a merchant) be shipped?

Your payment will be processed as quickly as possible to ensure that your online order ships fast. Payments are processed within 1-2 business days, and merchants typically ship as soon as payments are processed!

   When will my payment be processed?

Your payments are processed as quickly as possible to keep your order moving as fast as possible. Payments are typically processed within 24 hours. However, it may take your bank 1 to 3 business days to process your payment and transfer the funds.

   I paid for my order, but just received an email saying I need to pay. Why?

If you have already sent the payment for this order, please disregard this automatic reminder email.

We are sorry for the confusion. Sometimes, it can take a couple of days to receive your payment from your bank, or Western Union. As soon as your payment is received the store will go ahead and ship your order.

   I paid for my order, but the store says it hasn’t received payment yet. Why?

If your bank sent your payment electronically, it can take 1-2 business days for the store to receive your payment.

On rare occasions, the first payment made to us is sent from the bank to us as a physical check which takes longer to process. Your online banking bill pay website should give you an approximate delivery date.

You can usually tell by the delivery date if it was sent electronically (1-2 days) or as a check (sometimes longer). If you don’t see this information you can always call your bank to find out.  As soon as the store receives your payment they will go ahead and ship your order.

   Make your payment to WU Pay- not to an individual/merchant.

When paying your bill :only pay WU®Pay for your purchase, do not pay individual/merchants directly.



Questions about paying at a Western Union agent location in the US

   Where are your agent locations?

Pay your bill a participating Western Union® agent locations in the US.

   What is the fee to pay at a Western Union agent location?

When you pay WU®Pay for an online shopping order at a Western Union agent location: you pay the amount owing on your bill, and the Western Union Quick Collect Fee. Western Union service fees range from $2.95 to $6.95 US. 
Fees are:
$2.95 fee for orders under $100

$4.95 fee for orders $100 to $250

$6.95 fee for orders $250+

Western Union may adjust the applicable service fees at its discretion at any time.

   How do I pay my bill at a Western Union agent location?

Pay WU Pay at over 44,000 Western Union agent locations in the US. 

Paying with Western Union:
1. Find a Western Union agent location in the US.
2. Print a copy of the WU Pay bill and bring it to the Western Union agent location.
3. Fill out the blue Quick Collect® Western Union form. Complete the form and include:
(a)  the amount owing on your bill
(b) WU Pay as the biller name
(c)  your WU Pay Account Number, which is EB plus 7 digits, example,  EB1234567
(d) for your City Code: WU Pay OH
4. Give the agent the form and cash (amount to be sent, plus Quick Collect fee). The agent will process the payment and give you a receipt.
5. WU Pay will send you an email payment confirmation when we receive your payment; and WU Pay will notify the merchant to process your order.

   How do I pay for my gift cards?

Purchase gift cards online with WU®Pay, and pay cash from your bank, online.
Once you checkout with WU Pay, you will be presented with (and emailed) a bill. Simply pay your bill through online banking where ever you pay bills online. Or pay your bill at 44,000 Western Union® agent locations in the US.

   Can I use the gift cards in store?

Yes. If the retailer has store locations, you can use the gift card in store. Just buy gift cards online, and bring your gift card activation number/account number, so the in-store staff can cross reference the gift cards. See your retailer directly for store addresses and limitations, valid in US only.

   Do you mail an actual gift card out?

No. We sell a virtual gift card. The gift card will be emailed to the person placing the order; this email contains the details on how to activate the electronic gift card.

   When will I receive my gift card by email?

Be sure to pay your bill right away, and your payment will be processed as quickly as possible. You will receive your Gift Card by email when your payment is received and processed. Electronic payments can take 1-3 business days to be received. As soon as your payment is received; WU® Pay will email your Gift Card, as well as a payment receipt for your records.

   I lost my gift card claim code (pin #, etc), can you resend it?

If you buy gift cards from WU Pay, and have lost your activation/claim code, please contact .

   Do gift cards from WU Pay expire?

No, retail/store gift cards from WU Pay do not expire.



Questions about the WU Pay cash back program

   What is the WU Pay Cash Back Rewards program?

The WU Pay Cash Back program allows you earn cash back rewards on most (*) orders you place with WU Pay at a US online retailer, or the WU Pay Gift Card Mall.

(*) See terms, conditions, limitations on each offer, Gift Card, or at each retailer.

Please note: Western Union money transfer order do not qualify for WU Pay cash back.

   How/where do I join Cash Back Rewards?

Joining the WU®Pay Cash Back program is free, and easy.

If you are a NEW WU Pay customer:
Information on how to join the program is included in the email we send you, when you place your order. So go ahead, order at your favorite online retailer or the WU Pay Gift Card Mall, select WU Pay as your payment option.

If you are an EXISTING eBillme or WU Pay customer:
You can login to our Cash Back Portal, to track your cash back earnings. To login, you’ll need the email address associated with your WU Pay account, and your WU Pay account number (starts with EB and 7 digits).

   What are the limits, terms, and conditions?

Here are the terms for the WU®Pay cash back program:
Earnings Limitations
- On qualifying purchases, you may earn up to a limit of $20.00 cash back per order at the WU Pay Gift Card Mall, or on WU Pay orders at participating online retailers.See details and restrictions listed in the learn more of the specific offer you are interested in. Cash Back amounts vary by merchant,  by promotional period, and offers are subject to change.
- Earn up to 1% cash back rewards on qualifying WU Pay purchases.
- You may earn up to two hundred U.S. dollars ($200.00) of cash back savings within a 12 month period.
- Cash back earnings are valid for a period of 12 months. After 12 months, the cash back earning will expire.
- Cash back coupons that have been created, are valid and active for a period of 6 months. After 6 months, the cash back coupon will expire.
- You must opt in to the WU Pay Cash Back program to earn cash back rewards. WU Pay recommends you opt into the program as soon as you make a purchase with WU Pay, information on how to join the Cash Back program is listed on your bill. If you do not opt in to the program, you will not earn cash back.
- You have 60 days from the time you make your WU Pay purchase to opt in to the program. After 60 days, you will not earn Cash Back rewards on these purchases.
- Order must be paid in full to earn your cash back
- Not applicable to returned products or refunded orders due to out of stock inventory
- WU Pay reserves the right to change or terminate this offer at any time
- Special limited time offer or introductory cash back incentives may be offered, see individual offer details for additional terms

   How do I view my Cash Back rewards? (or login)

You can log in to the WU Pay Cash Back portal any time, to check your rewards, and if you meet the redemption amounts, you can request a coupon code, or a check. To log in, you need your email address and your WU Pay account # (begins with EB).

   How do I get my Cash Back? (how do I redeem)

The WU®Pay Cash Back program has a redemption minimum of $10. Once you’ve reached $10 or more you can cash out for a coupon in $10 increments or you can cash out with a check once you’ve reached $50. Maximum allowable cash back earnings are $200 every 12 months (across all WU Pay merchants, gift cards, and offers).
When redeeming cash back please note: online coupon code will be active immediately; allow 8-10 weeks delivery for check (check will be send by mail).

You can log in to the WU Pay Cash Back portal any time, to check your rewards, and if you meet the redemption amounts, you can request a coupon code, or a check.

To log in, you need your email address and your WU Pay account # (begins with EB).

   How do apply a WU® Pay coupon and earn Cash Back?

Coupon:
If you have a WU® Pay coupon code, please enter this code on the WU Pay checkout, not on the retailers checkout page.

Cash Back:
When you have a minimum of $10 in cash back rewards, you will be able to “create a cash back coupon”. 

Cash back earnings are valid for a period of 12 months. After 12 months, the cash back earning will expire.
Cash back coupons that have been created, are valid and active for a period of 6 months. After 6 months, the cash back coupon will expire.

You can redeem your cash back coupon at these participating merchants, or at the WU Pay Gift Card Mall. Simply enter the coupon code when you are accepting the WU Pay Terms and Conditions, the amount of the coupon will be deducted from your bill.

   Is there a waiting period before I accumulate my cash back?

Yes.

Once you pay for a WU®Pay purchase, it takes 15 days for the cash back to be accumulated, and assigned to your account. This cash back amount is “pending”. If you have pending cash back, it will be indicated in “red” in the Account Activity section, which is listed within the WU Pay Cash Back portal.
