How to verify your ID online?

We’d like to verify your identity to get to know you and your needs. This will allow us to serve you better and speed up the transfer process.

We need to confirm your identity before your first money transfer. Once we have confirmed your ID, you’ll be able to send up to 5000 AUD online.

  1. Log in to your Western Union profile.
  2. You can easily access your account from either westernunion.com or the Western Union mobile app.
  3. Initiate a transfer to start ID verification process.
  4. Confirm your personal details.
  5. Save time by making sure your personal profile information is up to date. The first time you send money online with Western Union, you’ll need to enter a government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms of ID include:
    • All passports (Australian and overseas).
    • Australian-issued driver’s license.
  6. When all the identity information has been validated, you may complete the transfer.
How to verify your ID at Agent location?

We’d like to verify your identity to get to know you and your needs. This will allow us to serve you better and speed up the transfer process.
We need to confirm your identity before your first money transfer. Once we have confirmed your ID, you’ll be able to send up to 5000 AUD online.

  1. Start a transfer at an nearby Western Union location providing the transfer details to your local agent.
  2. Present any of the acceptable government-issued photo ID:
    • All passports (Australian and overseas).
    • Australian-issued driver’s license.
    • Australian-issued 18+ proof of age cards or Photo Card.
  3. When all your identity information has been validated, you may complete the transfer. Note that identification at an agent location doesn’t indicate that your online profile is verified.
